I love Seth Jarvis, I think he's great. But there's a very big question mark about him beating out Necas for 1RW. Necas could very easily be the 2C, Kotka the 3C and Staal gone.

accidently signed him to 7.5 mil but meant to sign to 750k. Didn't know how to get contract off the books any other way.

kk is gonna be the more responsible two way guy down the road. I think he's better suited at C than Necas.

I agree necas could be 1 RW tho over Jarvis tho.

Necas has far more offensive upside and better skating, his center comparable is probably Aho, who became more defensively responsible when he moved to the middle.

They have a good prospect pool to keep them competitive, but they will need to secure a legit starting goaltender as well. Maybe Merzlikins is that guy, but there will be a lot of teams looking at him too if he hits free agency. As for the next two seasons, I don't have much faith in Andersen. Fill that hole and this team becomes very scary. Would've been nice to have Nedeljkovic right now -- he had that potential.

I'm not upset by it, I'd rather have a problem of who fills that role with 2 guys that can rather than no one who should

KK is going to develop into an excellent second line centre.

Necas could easily play 2c also, but he has more speed and is better suited at the wing than KK. Down the road the canes will have to find a way to keep Aho Necas KK Jarvis Svech Teuvo all in the top 6. Necas on the wing makes the most sense unless you don't see KK becoming anything more than a 3c.

At the way he's developing, I'm not sure he will be. It's a very difficult talent to judge when I haven't seen him play for Carolina yet

I think there is an option called “delete signed player”, so you could drag him there, and resign him for less.

The problem comes with paying these guys once their ELC's are up especially for the UFA's

Waddell is a cheapscape and sometimes thats good but other times that can come back to bite you. In this case he trolled his team not wanting to give Hamilton 9mill and Nedeljkovic 3mill yet was fine with giving Kotkaniemi a 6.1mill OS?

Then you got his offseason additions which are all either loose cannons or gambles. Only good one was the Bear trade.

With a GM making moves like that even with a big nice prospect pool and good players there's no long-term stability. Would not be surprised if the Canes potentially take a step back this season as the goaltending choices may not have been the wisest
