Thoughts on this deal

Description
Thoughts? I personally think its a huge win for both teams.

Buffalo gets a wild amount of depth, JVR and Konecny are both top 6 wingers who will score. I think Konency will play fantastic along side Olofsson too. Frost and York are two fantastic prospects to add to Buffalo's system. In a couple years the D would look fantastic. getting another first for one of the deepest drafts is important too.

Flyers get one of the best centres in the league, and along with Couturier have a top 5 centre depth in the league. I think this is the change they need to compete in the deadly metro and this deal easily makes them a better team offensively. I think the deal here doesn't hamper the Flyers either. Losing JVR is a win, Konency was replaced on the depth chart by Fabbree, Frost was only going to be playing bottom six mins and York will hurt, but there was no room on the roster for him this year anyways.

But lets hear everyone else thoughts!

I’m just not sure Philly can do this deal without Kevin Hayes moving somewhere else

NTC for Hayes but I agree. I also wouldn't trade him due to the offseason loss of his brother.

Id be hesitant that Konecny is UFA at the end of the deal, im not significantly high on Frost. Sabres dont need LD at all, and have no reason to add after Eichel

I don't think Buffalo is in need of defensive prospects. Swap York for Farabee and this could be a package worth pursuing.

Why do you not have Dahlin on the roster?

I think you'd have to over pay slightly on Konecny but he is a heart and soul guy I totally could see be a fan fav and even possibly a leader in the dressing room

He's and RFA and I forgot to sign him, was only focusing on the trade here and Flyers won't move on Fabbree, their too high on him right now

I'm sure they are, but Philadelphia's prospect pool is too unimpressive for them to be able to substitute lesser guys. It's not like New York or LA that has 4 or 5 high top tier guys that they can choose from. After Farabee, Philly's prospects are pretty underwhelming.

If Philly wants any realistic shot at Eichel, they're going to have to include Farabee in the deal.

Didn't he get benched this season for being the exact opposite?

With coots and Hayes locked up long term, I don't see any reason for the flyers to do this.

Idk man I disagree. Buffalo would get young 50-60 point winger (Konecny), a good top 6 F (JVR), 2 really good prospects (although I believe York is the better prospect), plus a 1st round pick. The sabres don't really need York though, but the value is definitely there. I have a hard time seeing Buffalo reject this offer.

I just feel like a lot of people on ACGM are overvaluing Eichel and the NHL trade market in general. Just my opinion though.

Eichel's value is either overrated or underrated. There's no middle ground. I understand the Sabres not needing a guy like York, but that doesn't mean he isn't valuable.

Left d is a sore spot for me. We just dont need it. I know that we are the worst team in the league, but we are all set there. People on cap friendly seem absolutely fine with moving d, doubly so if they are left handed. If cam york is that valuable, trade him to a team that needs a good young d for one of their best forwards and give us the forward instead.

JVR isn't really good and he's old and makes a ton of money. Frost isn't a really good prospect and York isnt needed.

I mean, JVR was tied for the lead in points last season in Philly. Yes, he makes a lot of money for the next two years but the sabres have space. & Frost is pretty good and only 22, the injury last year sucked but I wouldn't call him a bad prospect by any means. You can never have too many good defensemen, as they say. haha
