Based Hertl Returns

Created by: Bias_it_self
Team: 2021-22 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 11, 2021
Published: Sep. 13, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just some trades based of the reported asking price of 1st rounder, top prospect, and roster player (per Kevin Kurtz). All trades come with the asuption that there's an extension in place around 7,500,000 for 6ish years. Some trades have the roster player replaced with another prospect + pick. I am Sharks biased, so all trades will favor the Sharks, tired to make it fair.

I think MTL should give that a good thought. He would elevate their team to another level in my mind.

Actually, as both a Wild fan and Sharks fan. That return is slightly too low, provided Hertl came with an extension as proposed here. I would personally swap out Khovanov for Beckman, drop the 2nd, then tack on Rask and Greenway for cap purposes and to even out the trade value.

          To MIN:
          Hertl w/extension

          To SJS:
          Rask
          Greenway
          Khusnutdinov
          Beckman
          2022 1st

Rask is off the books after this year anyway so he's not the negative asset people like to make him out to be, he's strictly there for the cap. Greenway is worth about a low 1st on his own and could be a potential Kane replacement. Beckman is the stronger prospect, so another win for San Jose there as well.

The trade above that I listed is fairer for both sides involved, imo.

          Yes MTL take that
Sucks losing Romy but Hertl would be a great 1-2 with Suzuki Dvorak on the 3C and Evans 4C
We still have Norlinder Guhle Harris Struble for really good LHD prospect

I can see Ottawa making that trade, but I think they’d want a 4 or 5 year extension.

Edit: to clarify, 6 years might be longer than they’d want to commit

Montreal is not likely moving Romanov for 1 year of Hertl, we can't afford to give him a raise this off-season.

          I agree
Picking up Hertl with an extension means we lose Suzuki next year

That’s a terrible trade for rangers. If they aren’t trading Schneider for eichel why are they going to for hertl

Cause they're morons I guess, they're flush with RHD, they can afford to part with one.

Not really eventually they will move on from trouba either via trade or buyout. So RHD would be fox lundkvist Schneider

After watching Greenway play against the Sharks last year, I would definitely take this. I really like what I've seen from Khusnutdinov, so I might have over valued him a bit (He was taken the pick before Bordeleau).

No one is giving this kinda thing up for a good 2C that is a rental. It’s never happened in NHL history, and it’s not about to just randomly happen now.

          About 40-50% of these packages.
          1st and a 3rd. No mas.

          I agree
Picking up Hertl with an extension means we lose Suzuki next year
Unless the cap goes up by 8 million grin

Well sending Drouin and Romanov the other way makes them save 6.5M. Buyout Byron and you got your 8M grin

No one is giving this kinda thing up for a good 2C that is a rental. It’s never happened in NHL history, and it’s not about to just randomly happen now.

          About 40-50% of these packages.
          1st and a 3rd. No mas.

Did you read the description? All these trades have an extension in place...

And this right here is just so frustrating. A couple of guys sign an extension shortly after getting traded and now every trade has an extension in place. It’s rare. Very very very rare. So rare that’s not really worth considering.

Buddy, you’re missing my point. These are trades WITH an extension. I’m not saying he’s 100% going to sign an extension. I didn’t do a Boston trade because I didn’t want to deal with Bruins fans. Just stop and stick to Bruins AGMs.

No. I’ll comment on what i want to comment on. If you don’t like it, you can put me on ignore. You put something on a public forum, asking people not to comment on it because they disagree with you is butter soft.

Well i think that’s your issue and not my issue. The ignore option is always available. You just have to click on my name, and a couple options come down. The bottom one is to place me on your ignore list.

Its too tight. Suzuki needs a BIG raise then Caufield the following year. And, I'm not moving Romanov and a 1st rounder unless its for legitimate 1C or 1D. Romanov is going to breakout ala poor man's Charlie McAvoy
