Absolute no from the Oil. Only Romanov really has top 4/top 6 potential there. Bouch and Holloway have strong top 4/6 potential and Lavoie is a helluva big body that can skate and score. The Oil need those 3. Other than Romanov, don't have a need for the rest.

    None of it adds up.

Bouchard has just about as much top4 potential as Harris does... peohling and lavoie is a near wash, lehkonen and shore nearly the same, so its essentially Romanov for Holloway, which I agree i wouldn't do as an oil

Bouch is RD, Harris LD. Oil have lots of LD prospects, no other significant RD. Bouch has already proven some nice offensive upside in a cup of coffee at NHL level - Harris has only played college. So no, Bouch is way ahead at this point.

Poehling was supposed to be top 6, now looking like bottom 6. 2 years older than Lavoie. Lavoie is at that development point where you find out if his talent, which could be top 6, translates to top 6. You don't trade that for a guy who has already shown he is unlikely to be a solid top 6 forward.

Lehkonen is nice, but the cap is more than the Oil can responsibly take on. Not worth it, the Oil are fine at forward now, need to spend cap elsewhere.

And yeah Holloway is too promising, and Romanov is very intriguing, but I just wouldn't do that with Holloway being the potential perfect defensive forward for the Oil top at C/W moving forward.

Regardless of whose value you think makes more sense, this suits MTL's needs, not EDM's.

To be fair, Poehling is a middle 6C and was never expected to be a top 6 guy but that still doesn't translate to Lavoie. As for Harris he also plays RD from what I remember from his scouting report (I could be thinking of Struble though). All that said Edmonton still passes.

The audacity to think that NSH should be adding in a Tolvanen - Drouin swap!
