PART 1- The 21-22 Pens Must Re-Tool - Get Younger - Fill Ginormous Roster Holes

Created by: Sidstick87
Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 11, 2021
Published: Sep. 14, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
___________________________________________

My Part 1 ~ 2021-2022 Pens Re-Tool ; Has [24]- players (Bc of [4]-player Camp battle for 3rd- RHD-man spot)~ w/ {RHD- Demers #55 - PTO} - {RHD- Brown #2} - {LHD- Clague #56} - {RHD- Friedman #52}
~~ w/ [23]- Roster Players = $2.4m - $2.5m of Cap Space ~ {If Brown #2 or Friedman #52 wins - 3rd RHD-man Spot}

______________________________________________________________

~~~ This Roster would give the elderly Pens, some young Legit NHLers to mesh into Team, having a MUCH Better Roster, & a Much Better & more versatile Line-Up.
* IMO, 87 / 71 / 77 all can still be Top NHL players 'BUT' Not with 30yr old wingers around them, They Must have young Wingers around them to succeed.
*** Filled Ginormous Holes :
- 1} ~~~ 1B Type Veteran Goalie - (To Push Jarry) ===================================== {J. QUICK #32}
- 2} ~~~ Physical & Defensively Net Front type Top 4 D-man ============================ {B. McNABB #3}
- 3} ~~~ Net Front Top 9 Forward (Not scared to go to Net) ============================= {M. COMTOIS #44}
- 4} ~~~ Young Forwards - Center / Wing Versatile (McCann Replacement) ================= {A. KEMPE #19 (9) & G. VILLARDI #13}
- 5} ~~~ Just 1-Player that wont get picked on, Bullied, & Beat up (like all Penguins do) ======== {Z. MacEWEN #17 (71)}
- 6} ~~~ Top 9 RH-Wing for PP#1 (Left Wall Spot) ====================================== {R.RAKELL #67}
- 7} ~~~ #3 RHD-man to battle w/ Friedman for spot =================================== {J. BROWN #2 & J. DEMERS #55}
_______________________________________________________________
***** 21'-22' - PENS Line Up & Depth *****
OFFENSE :
~ 1A - Line : 44 ~ 87 ~ 59 ~~~~~~ Jake / Sid & the New Kid - Comtois44 is the perfect Sid winger & will be the Best net Front Forward in NHL by end of yr (Yes, I said Best).
~ 1B - Line : 67 ~ 71 ~ 42 ~~~~~~ Rakell67, Geno, Kappy as a 2nd line.... GTFOH. - Also Rakell gets back to being 25G / 55P Player
~ 3A - Line : 19 ~ 77 ~ 13 ~~~~~~ The West Side / LA Line - Kempe19, Carter, Villardi13 - *Kempe brings that rare combo of speed, skill, & Physicality & Villardi could be the best player in Deal.
~ 3B - Line : 23 ~ 53 ~ 17/43 ~~~~ McGinn23 & Blueger could be better than 53 & Tanev, Plus w/ MacEwen17 or Heinen43 depending on team playing.
~ #13/14 F : 9 / 49 / 57 ~~~~~~~~~ All 3- back-Ups E-Rod9, Simon49, Angello57, & O'Conner10 have been NHL starters = Very Deep
~ Call- Ups : 10 / 22 / 51 ~~~~~~~~~ O'Conner10 already has NHL gms & Poulin22 & Hallander51 could all be late in yr Call-Ups
__________________________
DEFENSE :
~ #1 - Pairing : 8 ~ 58 ~~~~ Still one of the best Top Pairings in NHL & will be able to keep TOI down w/ 3- Good pairings
~ #2 - Pairing : 3 ~ 6 ~~~~ Marino will bounce back this yr w/ a Perfect Defensive D-man like McNabb
~ #3 - Pairing : 5 ~ 2/55/52 ~ Matheson has 2nd great yr - w/ either Demers55 on PTO / Brown2 who I always liked / or Friedman who played well for short time
~ #7/8 D-man : 56 ~~~~~~~~ Clague has been very solid in short time in NHL & think he has high upside.
~ Call-Ups : 73 / 54 ~~~~~~~ POJ & Meloche54 have already had NHL gms
___________________________
GOALTENDING :
~ #1 - Goalie : #35 ~~~~~~~~ Jarry will be fine, he is still a really good Goalie thats only 26
~ #2 - Goalie : #32 ~~~~~~~~ Quick is the Perfect 1B type Goalie for Jarry w/ plenty of Playoff gms
~ #3/4 - Goalie : #33/#70 ~~~ Monty33 & Dom70 are 2 very solid #3 Goalies
_________________________________________________________________
{LTIR List} = 22yrs old & Younger ~ Pens Prospect List
{Taxi Squad List} = 1st Call Ups from AHL (P.O.J. #73 / Poulin #22 / Hallander #51 - Call Ups too)
Ducks decline as soon as you say Comtois' name
Comtois > LaBanc
And Rakell > the rest of the pieces in the trade
No reason for the Ducks to do that
The Ducks don't even consider it. Comtois won't be traded unless it's in a package for someone like Eichel. And Comtois is better and younger than Labanc.
We easily turn that down. LD is already a logjam and Labanc is better than both players alone.
Yeah, it's getting out of control. Every trade is explained by, "He resigns"
Man, I really hate to be rude because you obviously put a lot of effort into this, but honestly none of these trades really vibe aside form the super minor ones. The values I think are close on some, but they just don't make much sense for the teams making them.
Vegas: While I'm sure they'd welcome ZAR into their lineup and I actually think this is a fairly good value, I just don't think it makes sense for Vegas unless they had a replacement lined up for McNabb or think they'll lose him for nothing.
SJ: This trade just makes no sense. With their defense situation, why do they need Pettersson?
ANA: This trade is all Penguins and no real incentive for ANA. It's just completely off-kilter in terms of value. Pens give up a piece they wouldn't get from SJ (which still wouldn't be enough) along with some so-so futures for top young talent? Yeah, not jiving there.
FLA: It's really an inconsequential trade and a similar one could probably be made anywhere if FLA didn't want it.
OTT: If OTT was in a cap crunch I could see them doing this shave to some years of the commitment on that contract. Again, I don't think this is bad value, but I don't know it really makes sense. OTT really doesn't NEED Zucker right now. If they were a playoff team? Ok, I could see them needing a hired gun.
LAK: This is really just a messy trade. There's lots of moving parts and for the most part unnecessary parts. and I can see why it COULD make sense on certain levels. Yeah, they get Quick off the books and they get Rust. Rust could/should get a very nice haul if the Pens decide to move him, but for team like LAK having players like Vilardi is really like when the Pens had Rust for those runs. Vilardi is a young up-and-coming player who's cheap AF. LA also certainly has no reason to take on White or his contract.
VAN: This trade is neither here nor there.
Ottawa needs the centre more than the winger that will age out before Ottawa is seriously contending.
Please no more Colin White trades
He won't be traded, unless someone gives up appealing asset(s) for him but I don't see why any team would do that considering his AAV
There's abolutely no reason/point to trade Colin White. You won't get positive value for him, he's Chabot's best friend, he's overpaid by about 1.25 per season (based on polls) which is not crippling at all and he could still continue to improve as he's just 24 y/o.
He has produced 36 pts per 82 games in the NHL with mostly 3rd line minutes. The only season he had a better opportunity (better linemates, more TOI), he produced at a 47 pts pace. He has 4 years left at 4.75, which is too much for him but if it was 3.5 no one would complain. In the meantime, he provides forward depth and good 2-way play (check defensive/advanced stats). Worse case scenario (really doubt it comes to that), Sens could buy him out for real cheap
https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-calculator/colin-white
BUYOUT COST : $875,000 x 6 seasons
CAP HIT : $875,000 x 6 seasons
All that being said, Ottawa doesn't even need to clear cap space/salary. Even if they wanted, there's still the CAP FLOOR.
