If Studnicka Surprises in camp

Created by: kscoop

Description
Now or never for Studnicka?? I suppose we will wait and see what he can do at camp. If he wins a job as 3C moving Debrusk becomes inevitable. The trade of Debrusk and a 1st for an expiring contract in Ekholm seems like an overpay, hence why I included Moore balancing it out. If not Ekholm, perhaps another solid proven LHD could be had for a similar package. Hampus Lindholm?

Dont think that wins the Ekholm sweepstakes, DeBrusk doesn't do anything for them if they are rebuilding and Moore is a dump

Only a team going for it would try to acquire Ekholm. Debrusk and a 1st is a solid get for a guy that might walk. Debrusk is a good player. I don't care what the numbers showed a season ago.

No calling him a bad player, I'm saying there will be a lot of teams in on Ekholm and I think Nashville would definitely prefer a good prospect over a 25 yo middle 6 player if they are rebuilding

Less than no interest in that from NSH's side.

Preds have repeatedly said Ekholm won’t get moved, maybe that changes by the deadline but a pre-season deal is not happening.

If Studnicka impresses and wins a spot in the top 9 it will likely be RW3 with Foligno moving to LW3. Haula is a solid veteran presence at C3 that wins faceoffs, no need to move him off there and takes pressure of JS, he can slide into a C role later. There is always 4th line as well, though that does not suit his game.

Pretty sure Haula can play all 3 forward spots:

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Hall - Coyle - Smith
DeBrusk - Studnicka - Haula
Nosek/Frederic - Lazar/Nosek - Foligno
