The usual poor trade for the Leafs. Trading a needed centre for a fourth line winger. Leafs have plenty of wingers....centres not so much.

If the Pens had the cap space I'd say deal. Pens' hands are tied on pretty much anything at the moment unless salary is going out in the same deal.

Crouse is popular target, but that could be enough.

It’s more than enough and leafs would never do this. Crouse is a popular target on capfriendly and no where else.

Powerforwards are expensive if we look at their production. They are especially popular at TDL. But yes, Kerfoot and 4th is a lot/ too much.

Congrats on neutering the teams centre depth for a fourth line upgrade....

Who would be the top 6 c if one of Matthews/Tavares goes down? Remember kerfoot did the job well in last year's playoffs....

Personally, I prefer the Leafs try to get better if they make a trade or two.

It seems pretty clear, (to me anyways), that these are Dubas's guys. Sink or swim, this is the group that he is going with. Therefore... neither trade is probable and I would go as far as to say, not happening.

Power forward? He’s a 4th liner. Just because he is big that doesn’t make him a power forward. I could see a team lacking in size adding him just for that aspect. Leafs don’t have that issue.

It's about cap space and having a 23 man roster. I know Kerfoot is a better player but he's the only player with a 3.5 million cap hit that is moveable. If any team loses a top 6 center it is impossible to replace that guy unless your not a real playoff team. Robertson can put up the offensive numbers Kerfoot does.

Sorry that logic doesn't fly. It's possible to have a 22 man roster, trading Mikheyev will do that. Matthews is expected to miss the start of the season, so you want 3C Kampf (which is isn't 3C) and his one goal last season move up to 2C? Depending on Robertson seems to a stretch also, although I I hope is NHL ready at the start of the season. It's not a question of Robertson putting up Kerfoot numbers, it's a question of manning the centre position.

Thats not true re top 6 c. Most teams have guys like kerfoot who can do an adequate if not good job. Kampf, nor engvall, nor whomever can't. That means kerfoot is required.
