I don't see a top prospect here. Wilson would be fired on the spot if he made this trade. What a joke

Bruins very easily reject. This is a major overpay for a rental.

Stop with these if yall arent going to think with Hockey and Business senses

Bruins reject too, they lose out value-wise, Sharks lose out piece-wise

Both teams dont like this trade, though sharks could take just because they win value-wise

It clearly states he comes with a 5 year extension with a sweetheart cap hit. This is an underpay from Boston

Sharks would probably decline without an extension let alone with one. Not saying hes worth 3 firsts just not the right return at all, Id rather a steal like Newhook and a 3rd even over this tbh.

Its like talking to a wall:

The Sharks want multiple prospects (depending on the value of each of them or 1 good one) and a first as a base for a trade which they easily will be retaining 50% of Hertl and can take cap back. They will find a good trade and this aint it.

So for example:

Prospect that would enter their top 5 guys (Eklund (S/ A+ value give or take), Bordeleau (I view Bordeleau as a S but really hes an A), NEW PROSPECT (about an A value prospect), Merkley (A-/ B+), Kniazev (B+), Wiesblatt(B))
1st
Cap move
Additional Asset varies

for

Hertl 50%
maybe a pick or roster depth

Now Boston shouldn't trade for Hertl because Lysell IS NOT A SUPER HIGH END PROSPECT but Boston has a depleted pool. so while Lysell isnt a amazing prospect hes by far Bostons best and needed guy, and he would need to be involved so Boston shouldn't inquire on Hertl. Lysell would probably be the Sharks 3rd-6th best prospect (A lot people are high on Gushchin, Gaudreau so he could fall between Wiesblatt and lower) (Eklund, Bordeleau, Merkley, Lysell, Kniazev, Wiesblatt, Gushchin is where I'd place him).

Just a pet peeve of mine but none of these trades come "with extension". If a buying team is confident in their ability to manage the extension after a trade, they'll offer more. But the concept of the selling team working out the extension and then demanding some price that is a lot higher is nonsense as far as I'm concerned. Vegas was confident that they could get Patches and Stone extended to the point that they were willing to give up Suzuki and Brannstrom. If Boston was confident they could get Hertl extended, they'd probably be willing to include Lysell, etc etc. The selling team can't cling to an expiring UFA like he's still their property, the contract is coming up. It's up to the buying team to decide how much they can invest.

Logic, eh?

This is his norm, he thinks DeBrusk is the next Panarin and not the next Drouin

Any other centers of hertl’s caliber that come to mind that have done better than a good young roster player, a 1st, and a 2nd as a rental?

lysell isn't a top prospect?????????? what are you talking about most analysts had him as a top 6 prospect in this draft, he was ranked the biggest steal of this draft idk what crack you are smo0king but you obviously under value every other teams prospects and way over value san jose's prospects. Lysell fell in the draft due to apparent "attitude issues" which ended up being him not watching to play for his u17 team and go to the SHL for harder competition, maybe go do some research before talking you are obviously just a casual fan. Ill give you credit yet eklund has a higher ceiling then lysell but **** bordeleau is barely a top 5 guy on that michigan team next year not to mention being better then lysell. and yes im taking beniers, hughes, power and johnson over bordeleau every day of the week, hell even brisson is porducing at close to the same pace as bordeleau and hes not even ranked as one of vegas's top 3 prospects

You clearly can’t read cause I didn’t say Lysell wasn’t a top prospect so the rest of your comment is irrelevant as your “blind” moronic rage is pretty funny

Also Eklund is the general consensus steal of the draft, tho Lysell is a good selection as well smile
