Vegas declines

Vegas is already tight against the cap -- this trade moves out about $15m for them, but brings in nearly $20m. They can't even accept the trade if they wanted to. And if they could, how do they re-sign Rielly? Impossible, and he just walks. This trade doesn't take into consideration VGK's cap situation at all.

vegas says no, and you mortgage all of our prospects for a chance in the next 2 seasons.

1. As said above, this trade doesn't work cap-wise.
2. This would kill the depth that makes VGK a team to contend with. They can play 4 lines and 3 pairs now, but moving some of those pieces reduces their depth.
3. I don't think that gets it done for Bertuzzi. I don't think TOR has the pieces to make that work (at least that they should move). Robertson, a depth RFA, and a depth UFA won't get you much (especially not Bert).
4. I'm not sure why PHI would move Farabee, being that he's 21 years old and just starting to blossom. Amirov is an ok prospect, and the 1st round pick will be late 1st. Brooks is just fodder. If PHI did put Farabee on that market, they are probably looking at a minimum of a top-end prospect and an early 1st (or multiple 1sts).

lol thats an overpay for Bertuzzi and your not getting close to that for him. An injured Bertuzzi who is expiring in 2 years doesn't get you a promising top 6 prospect
