Lines - Bored at work

Created by: Jco5ta5
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 15, 2021
Published: Sep. 15, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Line 1: Power line. Will put up many points but will be a defensive liability.
Line 2: The strong two way play of of Kubalik and Toews cover for Nylander's defensive woes. Nylander is far too offensively gifted to play bottom 6 minutes.
Line 3: Strome/Johnson can share 3C duties and Hagel/Kurashev can be on the wing.
Line 4: Play Khaira and Gaudette over Connolly and Carpenter as they're younger and have more to prove/better overall. Kurashev/Hagel split RW duties.

D1: We lack a true LD1 but De Haan is a veteran and has at times been one of the better Dmen on the Hawks. He can handle the role despite not being a true LD1. This allows Seth Jones some more offensive freedom and covers for his defensive issues.
D2: One of the best shutdown lines in the league.
D3: Giving these young guys a chance. They both showed good upside in limited action last year.

AHL: Let Reichel, Beaudin, Mitchell, and Borgstrom dominate AHL and get valuable top line minutes, PP/PK time, and learn. No need to rush them into the NHL 1-2 years too early. Let them grow.

Goalies: What are we doing with Subban, Delia, and Soderblom. I imagine one of them has to be waived unconditionally. My guess is Subban.

I'm excited to see what Regula and Phillips can do over next few seasons. I think they could crack the lineup.

PS: Kurashev is my boy. Don't mess with him!

Borgstrom likely wont pass through waivers.

Benching Carpenter is a mistake, this team already lavks defensively strong forwards

Definitely cant see Jones getting benched over Stillman

Agreed on Borgstrom. Mixed on Carpenter...depends on who the Hawks are playing I guess.

I don't know if anyone knows who Caleb Jones is at the moment. The Hawks don't even have him in their list of Top 25 under 25. He's an honorable mention, but CHI fanbases don't think he's among the top 25 best prospects/players that the Hawks have in their system, BUT before last year he was EDM's #6 overall player under the age of 25...which included McDavid within that list. Pretty crazy how these fan bases disagree on Caleb Jones.

***EDIT*** One thing to mention about those rankings are that they're an agregate of people too. So it's not just one website. It's averaging out the rankings of about 10 different bloggers. Yes still bloggers, but it's interesting is all I'm saying.

To be honest I don’t think Edmonton fans that followed his development even really know what he is or can be. Showed flashes of excellent play but also flashes of a guy that won’t cut it. He needs to find more consistency before can fully evaluate what he is.

I think he'll end up being paired with Murphy and that will help him a lot

Definitely didn't think about the waiver situation on Borgstrom. Thanks for that info.
