Unbelievably cheap. The Golden Knights have only three righties capable of playing defense at the NHL level (although Shea Theodore has been playing there), so this is a steal. I thought that he'd get from $1 million to $1.25 million.

I mean, they're alright considering Whitecloud's emergence from UDFA status and considering that both Theodore AND Martinez both have a history of playing off-hand with teams that they've played on. Coghlan certainly gives them other good options, however, in case of injury or if Martinez needs a rest day. He's a really good defenseman but also on the older side, so some minutes restriction in the regular season may be a smart strategy for Vegas.

He should fire his agent. He should have gotten at least $1 million given the other RHD signings we've seen this off season.

NHL Defensemen who scored a Hat Trick last season:

Dylan Coghlan (3/10)

Jacob Chychrun (4/4).

This is an absolute steal. Great upside here.
