If NSH trades Fabbro, it shouldn't be for defenseman -- it'll be for a similar level forward.

You broke it rather than fixed it.

You overpaid for everyone, the defense is atrocious, cap issues, destroyed the long term outlook.

And Kessel will never waive for Boston no matter how much he wants out of Zona. Boston is the last place he’d want to be.

Especially not a vet LD with term.

I disagree. I think they're all underpayments. Meh futures and cap dumps across the board. I don't think anyone accepts these offers.

Disagree all you want, from a Boston perspective they are an overpayment, the Zona one isn’t. That’s an underpayment. But neither Kessel nor Boston would ever have a reunion. The others are. Fabbro is not worth that at this point. I agree Nash would not accept it, however he still isn’t worth it. Two sides to a coin. Same with SJ, not what they are looking for so they don’t take it but from a Boston perspective 1st/Debrusk/Studnicka for Hertl is borderline. 3rd/Zboril for Middleton is a joke. Would not give either piece alone for him.

Every player has 4 trade values:

What the team is asking for
What they will accept
What they can actually get
What he’s actually worth

They are not ever the same. Sometimes a player is worth more to a team than what they can get for him.

Just because a team would not take it, does not mean it’s not an overpay in terms of actual FMV.

I get what you're saying about the prices for all these players being more than BOS can or would want to pay. That's fine. However, these offers are all still less than fair value. None of the other teams would accept the proposals because they would all get beaten by other interested teams. BOS' lack of prospects and tradeable assets doesn't change the fact that the OP isn't offering market value - it just illustrates that the Bruins can't afford to be in the market for all of these players.

Again, disagree on what actual value is. Goes back to actual value v. what a team can get. Two completely different things.

If you have a car that is valued at 15k and somebody gives you 20k for it, they overpaid. Just because someone was willing to give it to you does not mean it was not an overpay.

Fabbro is not worth much more than a 2nd and mid level prospect at this point. Could they get more? Probably. But more is still an overpayment. 2nd/Urho is FMV. Adding Forbort/5th is an overpayment. Regardless of wether or not better offers are out there. Regardless of wether Preds would accept or not.

Hertl is worth 1st/Studnicka/3rd. Same thing, can they get more? Probably. It’s an overpayment compared to his actual value by someone if they do. 🤷🏻‍♂️
