There's an article I read recently where it says that teams who pay a premium to get a guy like that at the deadline typically know pretty well in advance that they'd be able to sign their guy to an extension (Parise, Kane, Karlsson come to mind right off the bat, all of whom signed [or in Parise's case, will sign] that extension).

So looking at it like that, I think it's a fair deal. Other teams will look at it like that too, which will force all the other teams to look at it like that too if they truly want their guy.

Thats what I have been saying. Hertl is not going too resign in SJ and then we'll have too listen too all the SJ warriors cry on here.
