Sharks pass on that Trade, not nearly enough value coming back. The asking price is a high end prospect and a first and probably more for Hertl.

While I can see why TOR does those deals, why would the other teams?

Seattle has Giordano, Oleksiak, Soucy, Dunn and many options at LD (Lauzon/Fleury, etc...) I just dont see why they'd want UFA Reilly (good value) to move a 1st, which they need more.

Brooks and Engvall have very little value, so its kerfoot and a late 1st for Hertl AND retention, I just dont see it.

And Brown has more value than anderson, who has little to no value and a late 3rd?

I think the values are off but overall theres little there to entice the other team

Ottawa has qualified Logan Brown and, if he does not sign, they will gladly let him play overseas while maintaining rights. This trade would not entice them to do otherwise.

Really doubtful Ottawa trades Logan Brown within the Atlantic division, particularly to their direct rival

Dorion has had trades that blew up in his face, he's going to be more careful, as he should

And people quickly forget that they also protected him from Seattle.

They didn't protect Vitali Abramov, Evgenii Dadonov and Chris Tierney but they protected Brown.
