Theyre better off just not ever dressing him and paying the entire salary and keeping the picks than something like this.

I believe there is a rule against that. I can't recall exactly, but I'll check later.

Edit: Sorry, I can't find specific documentation. I know players have the right to participate and can't be suspended without cause, which is essentially what this would be, but the only thing publicly displayed is vague NHLPA player rights.
Such as you can't discriminate against a player and presumption of innocence.

All I can say for sure is that Kane not being permitted to at least attend practices with a team (not necessarily the Sharks), would lead to a grievance being filed (which he would win).
I dare say that even if he were sent to the minors and healthy scratched every game, he would have a case for discrimination, but that's speculative on my part (though I'd argue it's common sense).

Though Kane is a LW which would be nice, taking in a locker room cancer on a team that struggles for success with a great locker room probably isn't the best idea.

Hit up the Habs or Canes they might be interested grimace

Evander Kane should be cancelled (unless proven not guilty of everything). Why people want to trade for him is beyond me.

It's not even that. Yea if he's guilty on any of the allegations he should be but what team wants him after what his teammates supposedly think if him

In a parallel universe, we trade Mikheyev for McDavid and there is no cap limit. What was the point of this

San Jose can’t be paying to move their best forward. Yes a trade is eventually likely but they need a positive return for Kane even if it’s reduced from what his market value should command because of the issues. It’s a situation in which the team mates need to suck it up until a deal can be made they get paid VERY generously to act like professionals especially that locker room where multiple players haven’t been living up to expectations.

Sharks aren't going to pay anything to move EK9.

EK9 is staying with the Sharks. They haven't even asked him to waive his NTC. And in no way are we paying to move him.

With their track record SJS shouldn't be able to trade any 1st round picks.

So San Jose saves $3.5mil, gets 2 bottom 6 wingers, one of whom is going to be an UFA... and gives up a lottery pick for that? thats just stupid.

Why not ask Edmonton if they want to dump McDavids large contract, but only if they eat half of it and throw in some picks too.
