Description
Very Sakic-like trades to bring in depth for cheap at the deadline

Theres room for maybe 1-2 forwards to upgrade on Helm and have proven guys to be able to step in in case of injury

On defense if EJ goes down with an injury then I could see a trade for a defensive d man to fill his role on RD + PK duties

I agree a 4th is fair price but the Avs dont have one until '24. They would have to get creative with a prospect and/or later picks or do a 3rd for Cousins with something else coming back

What are you offering for Stecher and Namestnikov? Detroit wants waiver exempt prospects back.

Value wise Stecher is probably worth a 3rd and Namestnikov probably worth a 4th. Avs dont have a 4th though so they would have to make up the value some other way. I dont think the Avs would move any of their waiver exempt prospects except for Henry, Clurman, and Keaton, but other non-waiver exempt guys and reserve list players could be on the table

probably 3rd + lower level prospect for Stecher + Namestnikov if Sakic was to go after both of them

You won’t get any prospects for them;, namestikov has been traded twice for a 4th Ave and has gotten worse since then

Stretcher was a non qualified ufa signing that was exposed in the draft, not selected and no one traded in the fear of losing him for nothing. He’s a pending ufa 3rd pair dman, he doesn’t get you a prospect back

That's strange - You have Namestnikov playing 2nd line on your roster.

If you don't want to pay for a 2nd-liner how can you expect to get one?

Stecher and Namestnikov will, of course, be sold to the highest bidder if they are to be sold at all. I guess it won't be to Denver.

His trade value is pretty established. in 2019 he was traded for a 4th + nick ebert and in 2020 he was traded for a 4th. Thats fair value - if anything his value has dropped since then after having a down season last year - it doesnt matter what line he is put on, Newhook could take the 2nd line role and Namestnikov could be put into the bottom 6 - but thats irrelevant to the trade value

What do you suggest his value is? And how do you justify that value in comparison to the previous 2 TDL trades he was apart of?

Coming from a Stars fan, trust me you DO NOT want to get Cogs. He’s as strong as a child and he sucks at hockey, he’s so bad Dallas decided to keep Comeau over him.

He seems to play low event hockey and advanced stats like his defensive game. Hes useless offensively but as a 4th liner + PK specialist I would be interested if the price was low

Well you would be right, the price shouldn’t be higher than a 5th.

Thats about what I was expecting. It seems like a very Sakic-esque deadline move

Stetcher is probably worth a 3rd or a 2nd at 50% and Vladdy a 4th.
