Not a Blues fan BUT curious to hear from you guys

Description
Is Oskar Sundqvist out for the 2021/2022 season?

I'm seeing a lot of posts with Sundqvist on LTIR, but unless you're pulling a Kucherov...he can't play in the regular season if you start him on LTIR. You need to be cap compliant on Day 1 of the season. Going back to TBL...Seabs will be LTIR in the summer. He's not coming back. Have you guys heard if that's the case for Sundqvist? If it were the case...why is Thomas taking so long? I think you guys might lose some guys like Walman and/or MacEachern to waivers. BUT then again, a lot of teams will need to send players down. So maybe not, but it's a risk.

I would hesitate to do that. CAR has just proven that payback is REAL. Armstrong could make some quick moves and make it happen. THEN go for payback. But it would be fun to watch!

Maybe as a fan of the game I just want to see more offer sheets haha. Not saying the hawks should do it (don't have the money anyways), but if i'm like maybe Ottowa or something I would if thomas is still unsigned after Brady gets his extention

Anyone else hate this? As a fan I hate that the NHL GM's have essentially made an unwritten rule to not use offersheets. It would make it more exciting for us.

I would LOVE to see more offer sheets. It's exciting. I just think GMs are afraid of getting one back.

Oh they are and it legitimately pisses me off. It feels to me like its part of the old boys club, especially when you look back to the comments Burke made all those years back when Penner was offersheeted. It was treated like a jerk, dishonourable move by... Lowe? Whoever was Edmonton's GM. Which is BS. Its a totally appropriate form of contract specifically put in the CBA.

I totally get being pissed when its done in a predatory manner (like when Philly tried to force Nashville to give up Weber by giving a tonne of money up front, which would be tough for Nashville). But I'd love if it were more every day like in the NBA.

And the crazy thing is in the NBA its fairly every day, and no compensation is sent back! You just have the right to match. In the NHL there is fairly significant compensation but theres an unwritten rule. Its lame.

(to be 100% clear, you are totally right, it is almost never done because of this fear. I just wish it was)
