Well our season is as good as over. Time to start focusing on the draft.

I'm still trying to keep hope but if we lose 2 out of 3 versus LA, Anaheim and SJ, just decide if MB stays or not Molson and then retool

Well Perreault is out for 2-3 weeks with an eye injury and Gallagher/Petry are game-tying decisions and Montembault starts, welp, looking like another rough game

Based on post made by A_Habs_fan worst case scenario probably

Hoffman - Suzuki - Caufield
Drouin - Dvorak - Anderson
Toffoli - Brooks - Armia
Lehkonen - Paquette - Evans

Romanov - Savard
Chiarot - Kulak
Niku - Wideman

Montembeault
Allen

As far as I know Evans is still out, so worst case scenario we have only 17 skaters.

Honestly I don't understand why the Canadiens don't at least try McNiven or Primeau (preferably McNiven) for a couple of starts instead of Montembault. Monty has proven himself as a poor backup at best, to me there's just too much upside in McNiven or Primeau taking starts over him to ignore.

i would love to see mcniven, Primeau isn't ready yet and his confidence might be ruined if he plays a game in the NHL and doesn't do well, as he has in the past.

Drouin-Dvorak-Anderson has been a good line though

I think they are widely considered good because of how every other combinations sucked. They are the only ones scoring goals. They're decent but I wouldn't mind splitting them up at some point.

Replacing our AHL calibre goalie who plays twice a month with another AHL calibre isn’t going to change anything. The season is over already anyways, so if we drop an extra game here or there it doesn’t really matter.

Good news (or bad news, depending on how much hope you still have in this season) Montréal has the toughest remaining schedule of any team in the NHL.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shane_Wright_(ice_hockey)

Here's a couple of my favorite quotes from Shane Wright's Wikipedia page:

"Shane Wright is a Canadian ice hockey player for the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL. Wright is rated as a top prospect who is expected to be the top pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft"

"Shane Wright (born January 5, 2004) is a Canadian ice hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL. Wright is rated as a top prospect[1] who is expected to be the top pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.[2]"

"He is currently in his third season in the OHL, as captain of the Kingston Frontenacs. He is highly regarded to be the first overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft for the Montreal Canadiens."

"Shane Wright
Born January 5, 2004 (age 17)
Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Height 6 ft 1 in (185 cm)
Weight 185 lb (84 kg; 13 st 3 lb)
Position Centre
Shoots Right
NHL team Montreal Canadiens
NHL Draft 2022 Eligible
Playing career TBD–present"

WTF is happening, Drou at center, none of those lines inspire confidence, we're screwed until the team is healthy

Might as well try new things if we're bad no matter what. Perfect timing to try Drouin at center unlike at the beginning of the season.

lets play a game called Ducharme making lines:
1. give each player a number
2. randomly pick numbers to get lines
3. become an NHL coach
4. get carried in the playoffs to save your job.
