Or the ducks move on from Eichel keep a top 5 pick and possibly move Lindholm for a huge package himself to continue the rebuild.

I'm not a Buffalo fan but I would think the Ducks would have to substitute Drysdale for Lindholm and a 1st for Lundeström.
With Lindholm turning 28 in January I don't think his prime fits in with Buffalo's time frame for possible contention.

Good post
Lindholm doesn’t fit the Sabres timeline
And They would want at least 1 “high end” piece

This offer just isn’t close imo

You swap mason mctavish for any one of the three players and i think you got a deal. That gets your high end piece which i totally agree with.

Maybe
Idk if he’d be “high enough” a piece for Adams

I’m glad he’s holding out for a good offer that he likes

If the price for Eichel actually turns out to be the equivalent of four first-round picks (I think it'll eventually be quite a bit less), then neither SoCal team is going to be in the running because Anaheim has the motive but not the surplus assets required and Los Angeles has sufficient assets but with Byfield, Turcotte and Vilardi plus Kopitar and Danault in the middle lacks the incentive.

Anaheim in particular will do better to keep Zegras, Drysdale, McTavish and the 2022 first (almost certain to be a top 5, as much as I hate to admit it) with Jones and Lundestrom in support and get another first plus another good prospect for Lindholm instead of trading some of those assets for Eichel.

Nonsense
No one knows how any of those assets will turn out
Meanwhile, Eichel is an MVP candidate

As good as prospects look & are projected,
many don’t work out
That’s why the team trading the elite player almost always loses these deals
That’s also why Buffalo needs to hold out to get as many top notch prospects as they can
