Crazy Trade Revised

Created by: JacobLyons
Team: 2021-22 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 19, 2021
Published: Sep. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Definitely a fantasy trade but it’s interesting.
Adding Kane into the mix would make the team a playoff team but I still think he’s played his last game.

Minnesota isn't trading kaprizov.. Also no to the wild trading for eichel. That is done, and over with. No chance.

- Tomas H is a rental, and wild aren't going to trade a 1st round pick in a great draft, and Marat k for Tomas.

- wild doesn't even have cap for eichel much less both. Eichel is also damaged good who still needs surgery

You don’t see Kevin Labanc, Blichfeld, Simek, Khustnutdinov, a second, and two firsts getting Jack Eichel who won’t even play this year?

I think Sharks would need to start with Eklund, picks....then add a piece or two for salary reasons.
They don't have a deep enough prospect pool to not use their #1 guy.

Eklund
2022 1st
2024 1st
Lebanc/Kane (or similar for salary)

I don't personally as their ask was four 1sts and the Wild 1st would be basically a 2nd if they added Hertl (Kaprizov = Eichel) so it's pretty light all told

SJ 1st is really interesting

But I'm not as high on Khustnudinov as some here

Buffalo is going to want at least one 1st round pick in the 2022 draft for Eichel.

Yeah but that was the original ask and I really don’t see them getting that ask, but also the return they’re getting isn’t exactly far off from it.
Labanc - 1st round pick worth
Blichfeld - 3rd round pick worth
Khustnudinov - 1st round pick worth
Simek - negative value/cap dump
One mid-round 1st round pick, one late 1st round pick, and one 2nd round pick

Too much quantity, missing that one good piece. Plus, if simek is the cap dump, its an extra nuisance, we have like a half dozen highly drafted, well thought of, young left d. Simek would be sitting in the press box or blocking them from playing for 3 years, and for what?- labanc, khusnutdinov, and a pair of future firsts? The sabres would have to absolutely love labanc and khusnutdinov, which i cant imagine is the case. Its just a quantity offer, the juice aint worth the squeeze.

Good thing this proposal isn’t suggesting that...

We are giving up assets to acquire him either way. It's not a sound proposal.
