That doesn't come close to getting you Suzuki. We aren't giving up our 1C.

The Jets could’ve had Suzuki if they didn’t trade their pick in the Vegas expansion draft… I mean who would they have picked if they hadn’t? Pavelec? Enstrom?

Nice reversal of the Montreal offers we normally see for Dubois.

Well if they didn’t make a deal to protect Enstrom in expansion, he probably wouldn’t have waived his NMC. So they might have lost Myers/Trouba, or one of Perreault/Copp/Lowry/Armia if they went the 8 skaters route.

Agreed. I would only go as far as Suzuki for Nash ... one-for-one. 😏

I’m saying if Enstrom didn’t waive his NMC, they’d have to protect Enstrom, and therefore expose one of Myers/Trouba or 3 of Perreault/Copp/Lowry/Armia.

But he did waive and he was exposed and they traded not to pick him

My point is that Enstrom probably waived because the Jets gave him a guarantee he wouldn’t be selected, and that Enstrom waiving would always be paired with a trade with Vegas.

Worst case scenario is they’d be forced to protect Enstrom over Tyler Myers. Either way if the Jets were to trade, they’d shouldn’t have traded their first round pick because that pick was Suzuki. And while the Jets have an elite offence already, with Suzuki instead of say Paul Stastny, they’d arguably have the best top 6 in the league.
