I think if those are the terms for the kids it will shake out closer to;
Petey -- 3 years x 7.5 AAV
Hughes -- 8 years x 8.5 AAV (slightly higher than Heiskanen's deal)

I'm not saying Hughes is worth more right now, I just think buying those extra UFA years for Hughes is going to cost more, while a shorter bridge for Petey should be a little less.

i wouldve given hughes a bit more but his atrocious defense is a bit concerning

I know his defensive game needs work, but guys get paid when they put up points. He's likely going to get Heiskanen+ money on an 8 year deal I think.

Out of the playoffs teams shouldn't be that close to the cap. Plus if those bonuses happen, Canucks will have less cap next year.
I wonder if some club either Sens or Canucks are going to say "no" to undeserving RFA contracts.
