LA is going to move him to RW. They're not going to move him in a Vilardi for Player+ type deal, especially for a 27 year old player. I could see them moving him in a Vilardi+ for Player deal though.

Farrel isnt even a NCAA player yet
He played High School Hockey as the top player i believe
Its like 1 in 10-15 years that they jump to the NHL

He's like 3 years out as he's never faced a Tour Schedule always playing hockey around weekends and holidays
The conditioning is no where near the level of basically every other top 10 nation's hockey programs

"Habs need a better 2c than Dvorak." By that logic, the Kings keep Vilardi or get more in a trade. Anderson's 17 goals were nice last season but just 7 assists and a minus 24. He seems to a third liner for the Habs.

this is legit a projection for 3 years from now. Notice how he's also not even in the top 4 lines

Vlardi is probably a big ask unless you're looking to trade off a Caufield

Kupari or Anderson-Dolan on the other hand might becomes the Marchesault ,Drouin and JT Miller who is moved out to make roster space for other prospects (Point,Gourde,Cirelli ,ext)With Vlardi here ,Byfield Turcotte and Kupari on the doorstep for a NHL spot with JAD moved to Wing and Akil Thomas developing in junior

Looking at their depth chart Kupari then JAD are the easiest to target
Kupari has the highest upside but its untested at the NHL level
JAD is a Drouin type who can play Center but doesnt. That said JAD is a natural Center moved to Wing due to depth reasons
While Drouin was moved from wing to Center for the same reasons aka Depth issues.

JAD if we needed a winger would be ideal as he's fast and skiled
But Kupari is a good upgrade on Evans/Poehling to play 2nd/3rd line Center with Dvorak

Vlardi is a big ask
We'd have to give up Jeff Petry at the TDL at 50% after he goes on a Career year season to pull off that deal

What im saying is in 3 years like Poehling and Evans from NCAA he'll be in AHL for 1-2 years
Evans was a Top Center on a top Team 1 goal from a NCAA Title as the runner up in the Frozen Four
So even if Farrell follows that timeline he wont up until he's 23 at the earliest

Plus he's a LW who doesnt play Center
As per his Scouting reports, Draft Profile and every other piece of info i can find

Ferrell has Gaudreau upside. He could also be a bust. I just wanted to add him in cause he could end up being a crucial part of our future.

I agree he could be
But at his Size with his level of Conditional it will be an uphill battle in the NCAA(plan season around Weekends and Holidays)
That said if he puts in the work Gaudreau did anything is possible keeping in mind he went to one of if not The Top NCAA program taking full advantage of it
His Conditioning was Elite

Farrell is playing for Harvard where the focus is on Education and Ted Donato is their highest accomplished American Born/Developed Prospect.
They've had Success with Killorn,Sweeney, and D.Moore who all were developed in Canada but no consistency with US born players for Decades.

If you told me Farrel was playing in Massachusetts i'd be a lot more optimistic as its the toughest division in the NCAA with the best prospects produced at their schools.
They put so much into Hockey there and no one else really does outside Minnisota and Michigan at the volume they invest.

Its the difference between OHL and WHL production of stars. Where OHL has Gretzky,Mcdavid,Stevie Y , & Brodeur(not including OHA it replaced Hull,Orr,Espisito,Makita,Mahovlich, ext)
Compared to WHL's Sakic,Price ,B.Clarke & B.Trottier which is good but not on OHL's level of Greatness Produced

Farrell would have been best off going the Patrick Kane route opting out of NCAA for OHL where he hit another level all together becoming undisputed #1 OA pick with a fantastic run with Gagner ,Kostitsyn and S.Mason. Find him a good team to play on in a system like London Knights with a history of Producing All Star level Talent and the sky is the limit for Farrell

you know Adam fox just came out of harvard right. Regardless of what university he's playing at, if he's skilled enough hell have success. Watching his highlights and statlines and the fact that COLE CAUFILED himself decided to go out of his way to tweet that Montreal got a steal of a pick with Sean Ferrell, are all indications that this guy could be legit. Well have to see how he does this season in the NCAA. I'm rooting for him.

Im not saying he cant be legit
Im saying you're putting a timeline on him that doesnt add up
That said Adam Fox did hit the NHL his 3rd year out of the draft from the same university
I just think unlike Adam he's gonna need the Jake Evans/Cayden Primeau/Ryan Poehling route that our picks in the NCAA outside the top 20 OA usually go

Farrell has the skill and the speed
I was just saying to hit a 3 year Time Line he woulda been better off in Massachusetts developing or in the CHL
That said Adam Fox did it so maybe Harvards Staff has figure things out under Ted Donato
Maybe Farrel will over achieve early on and Ted Donato can prepare him

I'd expect ferrel to play two years of NCAA then sign a pro contract. Either he starts in the AHL for 1 season, or if he popped off in college jumps straight to NHL, like Gaudreau. His timeline in my eyes is 3-4 years. Id expect him to play wing in the show.

Imagine a line of Gaudreau (Ferrell) - Suzuki - Caufield. That would be nasty.

It could happen for sure
Its all on him to go the extra mile really
If he takes summers off like Poehling i dunno
But if he trains all but 2-3 weeks a year like Caufield claims to
Then really i suppose the sky's the limit

Either way i think he'll be a factor in the future
Outside Mysak and Teasdale our LW is a little light
IF Ylonen situation isnt resolved our RW is basically long shots

We'll be relying on him to succeed as its unlike the majority of others will
Tuch and Pitlick are our Dark horse along side him in the NCAA

Our forward prospects are quite thin currently. Mostly all future bottom 6 players. Fingers crossed for Ferrell, he's got the highest upside out of any of them in my eyes.
