If Kaprizov or Pettersson were going to sign for so little, those deals would have been done months ago.

Kaprizov had been offered 8x$9M, 7x$8M, and is currently being offered 5x$9M after only 55 games in the NHL to date. Any of those contracts would easily make him the the 1st player in NHL History to get paid that much after so few games.

He still hasn't signed. Do you honestly think that after turning those down, that he'd sign that?

Even if Pettersson signed that, which he won't, Vancouver would match that faster than you could say "hi".
