I think hes quite overrated. Not a good skater. Not good defensively either. All he does is shoot.

Don't love the idea of flushing the forward farm system. Safin, Maksimov and Lavoie are all nice young pieces that the Oilers have invested in developing the last several years. Not a great idea to dump them when we are going to find out soon if they can make the leap.

I don't mind the targeting DeSmith. He is a nice player, but just not sure if he has the potential to be a legitimate, everyday starter.

I used to really like Hartman as hes a hard-nosed player, but at this point I just don't think he's very good at all. No doubt he could look decent on the 4th line and add a little offence, but every team has ELC guys that can do the same

MN says no. They just signed Hartman to a team friendly 3 year deal this offseason. It's bad business to trade a guy that just did that before the season even starts.

Maybe you should watch him... when you say "not a good skater" it just shows that you have never seen him play.
