Carolina declines.

If Montreal didn't spend two firsts on Dvorak, why should Carolina have to spend two firsts on Schmaltz??

They are both worth about the same, even though Schmaltz has a longer contract and a higher cap hit.

Also, you're under the cap floor and the NHL is going to punish you frown

none of these trades I feel are in line with actual value, plus you guys need some contracts in order to stay cap compliant.

Keller to CGY for :
Lucic, Coronato, 1st in 2023 and a conditional 3rd (becomes a 2nd if CGY makes WCF in 2022-23)

Keller would obviously make CGY a better team
While Lucic can be used to meet Cap Floor either in a Retain and Trade Scenario next year once the Kuemper RS is done

Kessel to TML for :
Kerfoot,Ritchie and a conditional 2nd in 2022 that becomes a 1st if TML wins the Stanley Cup

Kessel with 2m retained gives TML Added strength on wing but most important more Goals on PP with 2 cups on TML dime while leading the league in PP Production and will be a depth weapon capable of 20-30+ goals a year. They Lose a couple depth players they like but the cap works and they still skate a stronger roster

ARZ flips Nick Ritchie to a Contender for a premium this year on a good contract then Kerfoot next year at the TDL to get its real reward for letting Kessel go

Schmaltz to MTL for :
Byron ,Lehkonen,Primeau ,Top 10 protected 1st round pick and a 3rd in 2023

Schmaltz has to take a cap dump to come close to Dvoraks Value as CD was a seasons worth of goals ahead in the past 2 years while leading the team in virtually every other catagory for less money.

The upside here for ARZ is MTL is desperate and in win now mode.Schmaltz isnt a strong FO guy but he's a good 3rd line option behind Dvorak. After Poehling our Center depth is Merky at best for 2-3 years minimum so the term isnt a huge issue

Penguins decline. Hextall has openly said the following in numerous interviews/pressers:

1) Pens' 1st & 2nd round picks are off-limits.
2) He is only looking for hockey trades with his players, not cap dumps.
3) He will not add incentive for teams to take his p layers.

It's also been reported by some Pens' hockey writers that Hextall is a fan of Matheson.

Lucic has a NMC and I don't think he'd waive it for Arizona

That's too much for Kessel especially with no salary retained

Retain 50% then on Lucic and send him to MTL
Dont Retain on Kessel and let TML make up the 800k they'd be over by cutting 1/14 forwards in their situation(tight but doable )

MTL was Lucic's Runner up coming of a SCF so he'll waive
MTL will take him as come playoffs he's still a factor more then most(he's built for the battle)
just make the 3rd round pick a 2nd round pick and Jordan Harris Rights for RS

Lol. A 1st for Kessel? Boston don’t want anything to do with Kessel. Keller on the others hand. Love to have him.
