More like you want to get rid of Kreider's contract.

Strome is insanely underappreciated. It's frankly bizarre

*if boston wants to do the rangers a favor and take that brutal contract off their hands, and pay for the rights to do so…while only getting marginally better in the process.

Want to compete for one more year, and f*ck their cap for 5 more years.

Not a good idea long-term imo. No one's touching Kreider's contract.

Unless Panarin is coming with Strome than no thanks. Also want nothing to do with that awful Kreider contract.

Define very good. I'm not saying he is some stud.

I am saying he's spent two years (with and without Panarin) scoring at a 1c pace.

I get that he bounced around a bunch but he's actually been quite good for two years in a row.

He’s okay. Good 3C, mediocre 2C

He's literally 15th in points by a c in the last two years. Now part of that is health (he's 1 point behind Crosby but 30 more GP.

But he only drops to 22nd in ppg with 0.86

If you're curious that's ahead of Barzal, Krejci, Hertl, RNH, Kuznetsov, Giroux, etc

I'm not saying he's better than all those guys (he's not), but I am saying his stink of taking longer to develop and sucking in Edmonton is making people ignore he's been a good top 6 center for two years now

Then why doesn’t the league respect him? He’s just not that good of a player

Because people get typecast in people's minds and they still see the guy who sucked in Edmonton.

Could also be because his advanced numbers drop playing away from Panarin. Over the last two years Strome w/ and w/o Panarin at 5v5

CF% w = 50.8
CF% w/o = 45.2

SF% w = 52.3
SF% w/o = 46.8

GF% w = 63.2
GF% w/o = 50.0

xGF% w = 54.2
xGF% w/o = 46.6

SCF% w = 53.2
SCF% w/o = 44.6

Could also be because over the last two years at 5v5 Panarin factored in to 37 of Strome's 56 points or 66% of his 5v5 points. The 2yrs prior to playing with Panarin saw Strome at a 0.42PGP. The past two seasons he's played with Panarin has seen him at a 0.86PGP. That jump in production is pretty significant and abnormal.

Oh he's a flawed player defensively. I'm not saying he's a stud. And improving into his prime isn't so crazy. Though he certainly is carried by Panarin to a degree, I'm not trying to argue he's incredible. I'm arguing that the rags seem to want to just dump him when that seems silly as he's a solid player.

Solid player, meh. He's not nearly as good as his numbers would indicate. Improving is one thing, but the massive jump in producing is well past normal improving. He's also just about out of his prime being 28yrs old.

Two words: Artemi Panarin

If he didn't play with Panarin, he wouldn't put up these stats

Wanna see a crazy stat? Compare Strome and PLD when Panarin went from team to the other
