Don Waddell has no idea how to manage a cap situation so unfortunately the Karlsson trade results in Carolina trading Necas for a 2nd rounder ☹

Not sure I see why either team does the 3rd trade

Can you elaborate

SJ should hit cap floor by weaponizing cap like AZ

Kniazev isn’t being traded. These moves are not good for a rebuild at all

Not sure how trading our best LD prospect and a 1st is a good idea if we’re rebuilding

So the team who wouldn't offer Hamilton more than 6.2 would trade for a worse player making 11.5

I've been saying for 2 years now that SJS should rebuild. It was always a bad choice to get EK. He's the same player and position as Burns. Never made sense from the jump. IF SJS really wants to rebuild...and actually do it right, vs half a$$ing it. You just trade one piece EK and retain 50%. Dead serious about that too. If MIN can find a way to eat $14M...SJS can find a way to eat $5.75M. You don't think TOR would give practically their entire prospect pool for the puck moving RD for a steady contract of $5.75M for EK? Amirov, Robertson, Topi, the 2022 1st...SJS would still have their lottery pick too!

We need a rebuild so let's trade one of our best prospects and a likely very high 1st in a super deep draft. What a start.

We need a rebuild first trade moving own first round pick. If rebuilding why trade your most valuable rebuilding asset? That contract is less harmful if committed to a rebuild it’s harmful if trying to build a competitive team around it.

Teams certainly can't/won't be involved in trades where they receive so much back in cap in trades. Right now, despite his play, Kane is not tradable. And EK is no where worth his contract.

The Sharks kill that trade.
Middleton, and Meloche are career AHL players.
Only Ristolainen had a higher TOI/GM than Bryson, he will not be traded unless it is a good return.
Adams wanted Bjork when he traded Hall, it is unlikely he will be traded for two AHL players.
He will most likely play #3 LW behind Skinner and Olofsson and on the #1 PK unit.
I have no idea how Karmanos managed to squeeze a fifth out of NJD with Butcher.
Last year he had 11 pts in 23 games, for his career he averages over .35pts/gm
This year he is penciled in to be the Sabres #2 LHD.
I can see why the Sharks make this trade, they get THREE NHL players for 2 AHL players and a fifth.
