If Thomas rebounds its a good deal. If he struggles again is not a good deal

Curious to know who St. Louis will move once Sundqvist comes off LTIR.

Maybe that one guy who makes 7.5 million and has publicly said he wants out for a while.

He probably could’ve got more money over the next 2 years if he accepted his QO and went to arbitration next year. Amazing deal for St. Louis.

Again, in Brian Burke's unwritten rulebook, the only offer sheets that are morally acceptable to hand out are retaliatory ones.

Last season's injuries probably cost him an 8-year deal b/c most people in the hockey universe love this kid.

I like it! It's not really too low, either; Thomas did take a step back in points this year. He should have no trouble outplaying this contract value though!

Who can fit $7.5M in cap on their team...AND still want to pay $9.5M for a $7.5M cap hit. I'm not saying you're wrong. Just that the trade will be underwhelming for Blues fans imo.

2.8 million for a middle 6 winger and c is still fine.

His year wasn't as bad as it seems as they just gave him minimal PP time (and he didn't get a point in 48 minutes which is not very good mind you). His pts/60 at ES have been 1.9 then 2.5 then 1.8 for his three years. That is middle 6 ES scoring. This contract won't be a bad deal

I heard some say that long-term, Thomas could ask for an AAV as high as $5.5M, so this looks really good. On a bridge, I would have predicted in the 3.25-3.75 million dollar range. Only problem now is St. Louis is over the cap with no foreseeable LTIR relief
