Well I needed a good laugh today

WHAT IS THAT NYI TRADE. NYI would value barzal pretty close to matthews and you want them to give up a 1st AND Dobson for and additional tj brodie??? What in the world are you on? Tj Brodie would be a good fit in NYI but i don't think Matthews would work in NYI system. Also I dont think NYI would do matthews for Barzal 1 for 1

How do you plan on signing Pulock for 6.4 exactly? NYI will defiantly offer a 7X8 or even 8X8 for him

Spezza is 38 currently... you want a 40 yr old Jason Spezza on the team??

Out of the big 3 10+ mill contracts why would you pick Tavares to Keep????

Flames would match the OS

Dubas will hand Holl 5+ mill with the market for dman currently

And the leafs still have no goalie.

Good to know that even in cap friendly fantasy land the leafs still don't make it past the 1st round

Most of this is correct. But what you got wrong you got really wrong. Barzal Matthews one for one is a joke. What part of Matthews game doesn’t fit? Is it the amazing pile of goals or great defensive game?

You are way underpaying in almost all of these deals. Pulock will cost at least 8 to leave NYI (which hes already said he loves playing here) considering the market for number 1 dmen.

Barzal gets 8 figures and dobson will sign for 3 mil, if its a 2 year bridge. He isnt signing a 5 year × 3 million dollar deal.

Tkachuk gets 9 mil for sure and flames match the OS.

Holl will get ~4.5 given the d market and dubas' affection for him.

Sandin signs for 2.4 if its a 1 or 2 year deal, not a 4 year deal. And the same for liljegren.

Burakovsky will probably be offered more by COL and VGK and a lot of teams will offer more for mcnabb.

Kerfoot wont sign to get traded and if he signs and gets blindsided, there wont be a single other FA that signs with TOR. It doesnt send a good message when you re-sign a guy just to trade him that offseason.

Its a damn OS. This OS took place in the '22 offseason i guess. But he most certainly is not a UFA otherwise the leafs wouldnt be giving up 2 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd.

He is listed in capfriendly as rfa probably due to his age. But he will be ufa in 23/24.

He will be, i get that. But this acgm is going on the premise that he signs a 7×7.4 OS in the 2022 (next) offseason. Thats why TOR doesnt have their picks.

The picks are inserted (incorrectly) by capfriendly. In fact I don’t even know why you would have 22 picks in a 23/24 agm. Maybe something that they should fix.

I didn’t see the OP make any notes about the OS coming in 22. I think he just added Tkachuk the easiest way possible. I could be wrong though. Either way if he wants Tkachuk in 23/24 he will most likely be ufa and looking for more money and a US team.

Again its clearly an OS. CF will only do 22 pucks for some reason even in a 23-24 acgm. You can tell the OP wanted an OS bc he traded for the 3rd round pick in 2022 in order to complete the OS. If he meant in FA he wouldve just traded for tkachuk.
Youre right i dont think tkachuk signs in canada. And for sure wants more money. He will get 9 million for sure.

Well the way i see it matthews vs barzal are 2 conpletley different players
Matthews is a oure goal scorer. However, guys like him excell wt a guy like marner or nylander. Who would be that guy for matthews on nyi? Lee? Not ryll. I think on nyi matthews would produce at a 40 goal rate as compared to 50/60 on toronto. A player like matthews in my eyes wouldnt be valued as high in nyi. Nyi is all about the system trotz has
Barzal plays as that playmaker. Mathews+barzal would be incredible. I think barzal is a 100 point player on any other team.
The way i see it is you are trading one of the top u25 playmakers for a top u25 goal scorer. I think its a lateral move for both teams rather than an improvement.
This goes back to my playing days but i prefer pass first vs shoot first

Say what u want about playoff success but the bottom line is Barzal has been on a team that has made it to the ECf and beat teams better than them on paper. Matthews… well lets not bear a dead horse.

Obviously im a bit biased but as an islanders fan i would not want barzal traded for matthews. Call me crazy. I know i am a bit crazy.

You forgot or neglected to re-sign Sprong and he outscored Ovechkin Backstrom Kuznetsov oshie etc. in terms of 5v5 pts/60 last season 😐

Caps say no. Losing the big grit of the team and two good prospect/young players for a guy who doesn't make the team that much better, and a late 2nd round pick isn't worth it. They would be much better off going elsewhere if they want a better RW.

Huh? What does a one year offersheet have to do with anything? I’m not even sure why you are bringing it up.

Number 1 goal scorer in the league… on a bum wrist…clearly biased, but we all have them. Matthews doesn’t depend on anyone. He could literally fill nets with pucks with cardboard cut outs of of uncle Leo on his wings.

Pretty useless arguing over pure fiction though.
