Because they don't have the roster space for him, he wouldn't play ahead of any top 9 players they currently have in place, and until this morning with this alleged Archibald news, likely would've been a healthy scratch most nights.. If they were able to get rid of Archibald and his $1.5 cap space, there would be a spot for Chiasson to play, and the money to give him... Bringing him back for anything more than $1.5 would've been a bad idea....

And Hyman and Puljujarvi can be net-front guys just as effectively, I think. There's a market for Chiasson's skill-set but it's not in Edmonton.

Sorry, should clarify a bit.. Archibald is the anti-vaxxer, Chiasson is fine, hope he gets an NHL contract-just not in Van...
