Yikes, Ho Sang and even Gusev in the top 12. Mennel in the NHL. Leafs get much worse replacements for the three NHLers who get traded.

I see Ritchie on the topline because Matthews and Marner can cover for him defensively, J.T. is a little to slow and Nylander isn't one of your more reliable guys defensively. Kampf is the shutdown center, Kerfoot has proven he can't play that role

C'mon, Ho Sang has does nothing since junior. Gusev isn't good either. Mikheyev and Engvall are NHLers and worth their contracts.

youre using a 20 game sample size to judge gusev. He was solid in Flordia , hes gonna be a good top 6 player. Ho Sang has untapped potential and i wouldnt be surprised if he cracks the team as well. Highly skilled player and is a solid neutral zone defender

Tavares had some of his best years in NYI with power forwards on his wings like Nelson, Lee, and Okposo.

I haven't seen Ritchie play much but everyone on here says he's a real slow skater. Tavares isn't a quick guy and Nylander doesn't play a 200 ft. game a lot of the time. Your talking Tavares 5 years ago not today. Matthews and Marner play a 200 ft. game and both are very good skaters. They covered Thornton's butt when he on that line and he might be the slowest skater in the league. Ritchie job will be to protect MnM and go to net, that's why they got him to not let everyone rough up the big4. kassan's hit last year on Tavares should have started a line brawl but the leafs responded with nothing. That's not chemistry to win in the playoffs.
