Isles say no - theyre not giving up a 1st for Tarasenko and they can’t afford to take on a 3.35 mill cap hit

Didn’t know their cap situation. What could they afford or who do they want to cap dump to make something work (for Tarasanko or anybody else really)?

I think the isles are content with what they’ve got right now. Oliver Wahlstrom likely wins the rw1 spot next to Barzal, they just re-signed Palmieri and Josh Bailey has 3 years left on his contract. Those are the top 9 RW

Detroit declines.

Losing a retention spot for two years for only a late 2nd is an absolutely no way when we have 5 players on expiring contracts that may have to be traded at the deadline. Leaving us with only one retention slot would be a disaster during trade talks at the deadline.

Our economics are not baseball's economics. Our game is not baseball's game. Our owners are not baseball's owners, with one or two exceptions. Our union is not baseball's union. What we do has to be crafted and suited to address hockey, to address the NHL, to address our 30 teams and our 700-plus players.
