With basically all training camps beginning/ announced I felt it was time to start the season thread since the offseason is basically over with the season debut less than a month away.

Columbus’s first preseason game is next Monday (Sep. 27th) vs. Pittsburgh. It’s felt like forever since last season. I’m ready to see just how mediocre the team will be this year.

im thinking dahlin? Maybe theyre saving it for cozens/middlestadt. But i doubt it


thats a low blow to eichs tho. Imagine wanting to see your team be successful and be left out to dry by your management, and then have them spit in your face by declining your surgery and trade requests after years of no action and continuing to suck without any plan, and then being absolutely SACKED by having the "C" stripped, when you're obv the leader.

hes been pushing management to be better, give him help, and have a plan to not suck, and the team looks at him and goes "lol nope. Sucks to b u!!"

If the Stars have Oettinger in the AHL I’m sorry to all your farm teams, you’ll get absolutely shut down almost every night, and we’ll just take the Calder cup like it’s nothing. Oettinger would be a starter on a lot of NHL teams.

I disagree on the starter for most NHL teams, he'd definitely be a backup on all teams though

When I say a lot I meant 10+.

Off the top of my head Arizona, Buffalo, Carolina, Edmonton, Sens, Pens, Sharks, Blues, Caps.

With the argument of the Panthers and Flyers.

People tend to look at the 2019 season when evaluating Binnington, remove that, and he’s been average and in the playoffs for the last two seasons he averaged a lower SV% then .900. Give Oettinger time to develop and he’ll be 100% better than him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s better than him next season, he only needs to improve his positioning.

Could be, but he's not there yet. Agreed that Binnington has yet to prove he can keep up his 2019 self.
