Really depends. Some KHL teams believe in youth development, Others are just Trotz followers.

Now you want a league that is horrible for most young players....Liiga. Like I believe only 2 teams believe in youth development and opportunities. The majority barely give them ice time and while most still thrive even with the pressure most prospects often suffer and their stock gets impacted for the drafts.

Well in terms of most Russian coaches ageism is a thing where veterans are given more opportunities than youngsters who are as good if not better than the players above them, see Vasili Podkolzin. Hell, they’ve even favoured the older players in the world juniors, where the difference in age is only a year! Although that is way less common in KHL teams with non-Russian coaches.

I haven’t heard that about Liiga, although most of my knowledge of the league is in relation to Jesse Ylönen, who certainly seemed to be treated fairly in his time with the Pelicans.

Apparently Danault was promised power-play time in LA. He hasn't had it yet 👀.

So LA’s 1st unit is currently playing 3 times as much as their 2nd unit.

On the 1st unit he’s competing with Dustin Brown, who plays net-front. Danault can’t play net front, and isn’t close to Brown offensively.

On the 2nd unit he’s competing with either Alex Iafallo or Gabriel Vilardi.* Both have way more offensive skill than Danault.

So I mean it’s not like Montréal where there were equal options and they didn’t play him because they wanted to save him for more defensive minutes, Danault just isn’t close to the skill level needed to play on LA’s power play.

*After watching LA’s powerplays from 2 regular season games and the last preseason game the 2nd unit didn’t get set up in the offensive zone once. It appears they like to double-shift the 1st unit.

He should be on unit 2 over Kaliyev in my opinion. Move Vilardi to Kaliyev's spot and have Danault where he plays. Or put him in Tkachyov's spot and move Tkachoyov to unit 2 where Kaliyev plays

Like Kaliyev and Tkachyov really should not be on the PP units over some of the vets or more experienced players. At least for now

That’s why I picked up Boxing as my secondary sport. It lets out all of the pain caused by all these bozos.

Maybe your dream of boxing Blake Comeau could become a reality?

(TBH i thought the "i want to box Blake Comeau" thing was a joke since i've heard boxing challenges used as jokes way too much)

I'm attending a labour management class in university and today's subject was potential in workplace. The 70ish year-old teacher used Jesperi Kotkaniemi as an example of constantly performing under potential.

Someone’s salty. Did they watch the 2018-19 season? Or most of the playoffs in the last 2 seasons?

Habs legend* Ilya Kovalchuk is going to be Russia’s GM for the Olympic team.

*I’m only being slightly sarcastic.

Belzile on waivers means Hoffman is debuting against SJS tomorrow.

I mean he isn’t playing hockey now, so why not? Sure he’s only 38 and has no experience in a management position, but he is allowed to be named the GM.

Apparently, he had a problem with prescription drugs while he was still playing. I hope the league is being more proactive about this.
