WOW. Avalanche were down 4-1 with under 6 minutes to go (same as the Lightning Thursday night against the Red Wings), scored 2 goals in 3 minutes to make it 4-3, and then seemingly scored again (with the net-empty) to tie the game-only to have it overturned when Tyson Jost was ruled to have it kicked in, to the dismay of a howling Ball Arena. 4-3 Blues with a minute to go.
EDIT: And Ryan O'Reilly (Fantasy team, baby!) scores an empty-netter to clinch it for the Blues. Haven't seen the Jost non-goal yet. Boos raining down from the crowd.

Wow, just saw the Andersson thing. He has to get suspended, right? I mean, elbow, headbutt, and punching a guy who hasn't dropped his gloves 4 times while the ref is intervening.

Do we need to be concerned about Winnipeg now?

Chicago might have competition for the Flames Tittle

Winnipeg would be a cup contender with an average coach

They're too wild - just from watching the Sharks game currently. They have such a good lineup but they're not tempered. Running around looking for heads and getting too firey. If they just focused on using their size to not kill teams (like the Sharks tonight), they'd win this game easily, and probably many others. Maurice has no leash.

Calgary last season in the Canadian division had an amazing offseason adding Tanev, Markstrom, among other solid players. But the results were not what they hoped and they missed the playoffs as nothing clicked.

Chicago during this offseason added Fleury, McCabe, Jones, etc yet despite that like what happened with Calgary the results are not reflecting that and ironically Chicago is looking worse. Oh and forgot to mention Dach and Toews are back.

To be fair, in Calgary’s case it wasn’t the new guys who were the problem. Monahan played mediocre and was hurt for most of the year, Tkachuk took a step back, Andersson stagnated instead of stepping up like he was expected to (especially on the PP, he’s got a bomb and never uses it, and he can’t hold the line to save his life), Rittich sucked giving Marky no relief, and Dube was expected to seize a top 6 role after an excellent playoffs and just played like a fine 3rd liner. Hanifin, Tanev, Markstrom, and Mangiapane were the only bright spots. We never started a game until the 2nd period at the earliest so we were constantly chasing the game. Ward was a terrible coach, and I think that’s Chicago’s problem too, I don’t think Colliton is a good coach.

Oh I know its just when was the last time we saw a team have an incredible offseason, struggle, fire their coach, bring an old guy we havent seen in forever as the new coach, and miss the playoffs. Its one of those unique situations that is rarely replicated. Yet Chicago seems to want to lul. Would not be surprised if they fire their coach and hire Torts

Maurice system is awful - doesn’t let Dmen make plays, they all just take low percentage point shots. They don’t really play with any structure.

Can anyone tell me if there’s been a player who was signed till they’re 38 making over 7 million in the history of this league?

On top of some of the other names I’ve seen, Suter, Parise, Zibby, Josi, OV, Lecavalier, Jumbo, Lidstrom (although the last two were short term 7+ deals after 38 lol)

Bobrovsky is pretty good so far. If he performs more or less at this level throughout the season, the Panthers have proved me wrong.

I wasn't sold on the capacity of all the breakout players they had to translate it into this season. Forsling, Verhaeghe and Bennett are looking even better.

Who would have taught Jonathan Drouin would score 66.67% of his team's goals.

We really need Hoffman and Edmundson back, our forwards haven't been great apart from the Drouin line and Edmundson would help our D so much

Stamkos > Ovechkin

If Stamkos had Ovi's durability, he'd be knocking on some big records towards the end of his career too.

Maybe. Stamkos has a better shot than Ovi, but Ovi’s a better goal-scorer.
