Do we need to be concerned about Winnipeg now?

Chicago might have competition for the Flames Tittle

I mean people who thought Winnipeg would be any good clearly didn’t watch the playoffs last year. Their team defense is terrible, and they lost the most lopsided series of all time in terms of xG.

And thats the funny thing as they went and added Dillion, Schmidt, Nash, and other defensive type guys. Guess Maurice needs to go as it seems his system promotes offense over playing defense lul.

Eklund struggled to get into a groove in the first, but progressed throughout the game and played better and better. He still has to adjust to the speed of the NHL game (just needs to make more smart/ safe decisions with the puck). But Eklund really played well, though he loves trying to make highlight reel plays which could be adjusted to happen less lol. These are a few times Eklund evades a big open ice hit; with Harkins and Stanley taking some hard landings. Eklund with a great heads up play also tallies his first NHL point from a Hertl goal.

Weatherby goes from a long shot to ever reach the pro level to playing on the top PP unit and ends up burying a nice goal in his first game. What a celly.

I was on the Sam Bennett hype train so hard. Really wanted the Leafs to get him. Glad it's working out for him so far, not so glad it's happening in the division.

Me too. Classic case of a player needing a change of scenery. He always had the skill.

Ya, I'm kind of a jets fan and I don't understand the hype about them, they're a playoff team but they aren't going to be challenging Colorado for the first in the Central.

I got flamed when I did my season predictions in ACGM because I predicted

1-They finish 5th in the Central and miss the playoffs
2-Blake Wheeler regresses hard

ACGM was flooded with Blake Wheeler slander last night and the Jets haven't won a game yet.

Yeah, so maybe i shouldn't have predicted Jets at 1, but that's a combo of me not liking the Avs depth and liking the Jets's adds

Lehtonen's biggest NHL achievement is causing Hedman to tear his meniscus.

Yeah should have warned you talk about Wheeler in any negative fashion (no matter how truthful) and they will dive bomb you.

Wheeler is still a good player. But he is also a handicap. He passes more than he shoots, has little commitment to defense, and sometimes just looks lost without Scheifele.

That’s what f*cking happens when you f*cking put Esa F*cking Lindell on your first PP.

THEY NEED A PLAY DRIVER FOR F*CK SAKE

They start every attack by flipping the puck to the opponents end and then they just flip it back. Their approach of driving play during PP is extremely luck based and makes more sense during PK than anything else.

Also I think it has been Suter in that PP.

That’s called the dump and chase technique, an old technique.

Key word: old

What is our coach?

Old

Point proven

With all due respect, there's a difference between old coaches and f*cking ancient ones.

Joel Quenneville is old. Rick Bowness is a god-damn fossil. And these guys have three years age difference.

Bowness fits so much better for the assistant coach role. Let him deal with the PK, he has done pretty well with that. BUT WE NEED ANOTHER HEAD COACH FFS.

That would be a good idea, only problem is that the guy deciding who’s our coach has the same philosophy as our dumb coach, and the guy deciding if the dumb @ss who keeps the other dumb @ss keeps his job, is a bootleg version of Big Chungas so yeah we’re kind of f*cked.

Here's to hoping Stars have a complete sh*t season in order to get some new faces in the lead of the organisation.

Let us join the Fight for Wright or the Battle of Bedard.

I mean there’s only 2 real options for good KHL players. SKA and CSKA are always top 2.

I think one of Tampa's late round picks this year was playing on SKA's 3rd pairing. This probably knocks him out of the starting roster. But yes, St. Petersburg is apparently the place to be in Russia

For an 18 year old to be playing on SKA or CSKA is really something special, considering how good those teams are and how much Russian hockey hates young players.

Really depends. Some KHL teams believe in youth development, Others are just Trotz followers.

Now you want a league that is horrible for most young players....Liiga. Like I believe only 2 teams believe in youth development and opportunities. The majority barely give them ice time and while most still thrive even with the pressure most prospects often suffer and their stock gets impacted for the drafts.

He was in his third year of draft eligibility (20 y/o). I think he was playing with them last year though as a 19 y/o.
