Probably keep him because they are dumb and bad. Him and Rakell both shoulda been dealt last year, and Gibson should go by the summer at the latest.

Why is Riley Nash on either power play unit? Put Ehlers on the top line and top PP already he’s literally arguably the best Jets forward, and at worst 3rd best offensively.

And Manson too. Murray has been terrible at asset management.

Not sure what ANA is planning but Lindholm -> NYI for picks/prospects would make a lot of sense for both teams

Ehlers likes being on the 2nd unit cause he controls everything. I remember reading that Maurice offered him a spot on PP1 and he asked to stay on PP2

If Lou is giving up significant assets for a player on an expiring contract , he wants to re-sign them. It doesnt make sense for the isles to re-sign Lindholm because they already have their top D pair locked up and Noah Dobson needs a new contract after this season.

Are the Ducks still considered a frontrunner to trade for Jack Eichel? If so, why would the Ducks add him if they're planning on selling off a bunch of their top veterans? Especially when acquiring Eichel is probably gonna cost them draft picks and/or prospects.

I think they are going to re-sign Manson and rackell which is really dumb.

They have Pulock, Dobson, and Mayfield to fill out the right side but have no LD behind Pelech, Lindholm would be a good fit to fill out the top 4 if he extended

I'd expect Lou to add a top six goal scorer more than another D. Rakell could be a nice fit.

I think it’s probably more a case of Bob Murray won’t pass up the opportunity to get a really good player if he thinks it’ll benefit his team. Eichel is young enough, and if you get him for good value the Ducks should definitely do it.

The Isles top prospect is a LHD, Robin Salo who projects to be a #3 D and can probably play 2nd pair minutes right now. There’s a decent chance he gets called up in the next few weeks and runs away with the opportunity like Devon Toews did in 2018.

Obviously Lindholm would be a great add, but Murray is stubborn af and will want a lot + I’d rather not sign a 29 YO defenseman to a 7 year contract at 7.5-8 mill AAV

I doubt it - who would rackell replace in the isles top 9?

Why not have Salo and Lindholm fill out the last 2 LD spots?

Depends on the asking price of course but if you can get him extended for a 1st + 2nd + player/prospect then I think its worth it. I think Ekholm is a good comparable for Lindholm, maybe even increase the term a bit since Lindholm is younger - something around 4-5yrs x 6M. Also he would be 28 when the extension would kick in, hes born in the same year as Pelech and Pulock

For this season it would be great, but like i said i think Lindholm will get at least 7.5 mill on a 7 year deal. Ekholm will be 32 when his deal kicks in which is why he only got a 4 year term.

Clearly the isles want to win now, but they still have to be somewhat smart with their picks - right now they should be playing pelech , Pulock and Dobson more while trying out Aho/Salo at LD2. Trotz hasn’t figured that out yet , it will take a few more embarassing losses for him to do something. Pelech only played one more minute than Chara last game

I would sign Lindholm to a 6 mill x 5 contract, i just think it’s highly unlikely he signs for that much.

Or Toronto

Would be good Muzzin insurance for the playoffs

And if Rielly does decide to walk extend him 6.5x8yrs

And then you go with

Lindholm-Brodie
Muzzin-Liligren
Sandin-Holl

Lou already has so many guys though

Bailey, Lee, Palmieri, Beauvillier, Wahlstrom, Parise, Bellows

What Islanders need is a top 4 LD as Green and Chara be to old and slow.
