Looking at some of these lately, I'm starting to think that looking for 2 x 1st for Hertl is a pretty big long shot. Comparables at the deadline have been 1st+3rd, maybe a 1st+decent prospect, and (rarely) a 1st+2nd. The matter of his 3 team trade list could also put a pretty big squeeze on the return as well.

As for Meier-2 x 1st for a guy who's seen his offensive production decline over the past couple of years seems like a bit of a stretch as well. Consider that Viktor Arvidsson, who is considerably cheaper, only went for a 2nd+3rd. Is Meier better? Of course...but not that much better. Plus, Florida taking on a $6 mil per year player essentially means that Barkov won't be back as well.

That's way too much for Meier. Also, the Panthers have a surplus on the wing, they don't need to add a guy who would probably be in their 3rd line.

Definitely too much more Meier, and I don't think anyone gives up a 1st for Labanc right now.

Hertl deal is the only one here which is close value-wise but it still doesn't make sense since 2st plus prospect should be the asking price.

Meier is a top six on basically every team. Weird comment.

Over ask on every single one. Those trades all get declined.

Wouldn't be on the Panthers tho. Last year, he would've been 5th in points among just Panthers' wingers. And that's before adding Reinhart

Last year was a down year for most sharks. When Meier is being Meier he's a 25-30 goal, 50-60 point player and he still has a higher ceiling. Hes a strong net front power forward. He would *easily* crack the Panthers top six lol over Vatrano, Duclair and about any other top six wing option. Lets be realistic.

Meier has been that 30-goal, 60-point guy once in his career, lol. He has now had more "down" seasons than good seasons.

Also, Vatrano played in the third line last season alongside Hornqvist who also beat Meier in points 😂

A pylon defenceman Keith Yandle almost got more points than him and he was bought out...
