This would be interesting, but it all depends on how each player does next year. If Laine returns to form and Zadina breaks out, there's little need for either team to do this. If Laine continues to struggle and Zadina has another decent but not great season, it could be a good change of scenery for both.

That'd be a hell of a line-up. I think DET is going to be better this year...not sure they'll win the Shane-stakes.

And particularly if he's going over with an extension, Laine is going to cost more.

I think I rather keep Zadina. Let him grow in Detroit, if he stays stagnant or declines, maybe trade him.

I like Laine and I'd probably accept this trade but I don't see CBJ accepting. At least not before the season starts. I'm curious to see how he plays now that Tortorella is gone.
