If They Kept Pietrangelo

Description
love what the blues did in the offseason... but letting Pietrangelo walk in exchange for $2M and Torey Krug was a weird one... Krug is a great player that has (and will continue) to provide that offensive upside that Pietrangelo gave. those last few years on that petro deal likely wont be pretty though lol

I'm making the assumption that Tarasenko plays. If not, they have loads of cap. Also draft picks. Those are pretty neat (especially during the deadline!)

Once Sundqvist comes back there would have to be a trade on that front... with realism out the window, Sanford would be that guy despite them giving him a prove it 1 year deal. the offense is really really good on paper and they have solid depth. adding Pietrangelo to that defense really adds a lot. Scandella and Parayko play well together and Mikkola played a lot at the end of the year. seems like a guy they really trust. after this year i looked at the team and thought they should just blow it up while they can (almost all cup teams end up waiting too long, losing value, and blowing it up anyways)... wanted them to get a head start because they really regressed without Tarasenko being healthy, and obviously losing your captain stings a bit (not that ROR isnt a true captain because he is)

All in all Armstrong did a great job this offseason. Buch is at very fair value and Saad is slightly cheaper than I imagined. Thomas and Kyrou also have affordable cap hits, especially for the immediate services they provide

the dream scenario would have been going into this season we didnt lose dunn to seattle so dunn plays with piet on the first pair then faulk and parayko played on 2nd that would have been good
