Sounds like a 1C to me. Demote Matthews and move Tavares to a wing.

Lmao…

I’m thinking the leafs use the 4th line as shutdown. Defensive zone starts. Using 3rd or4th line as shutdown both have different advantages and drawbacks.

As a Hawks fan, I like Kampf. I know the Hawks have 8ish centers right now, but would have liked to keep him for that amount. He's a role player and knows it. Good PKer. Good at the dot. Won't even really try to score though. Just shutdown other players. The one thing I'd say is that he has taken some pretty stupid penalties in his time with the Hawks, but still a solid player IMO.

Correct if I’m wrong but didn’t Kampf play most of his mins with Kubalik. With how well Kase has looked the first two days (by reporting) I’d love to see a Bunting/Mikheyev Kampf Kase 3rd line.

195 mins with at even strength, 500 mins without. Hagel and Carpenter were his 2 most common linemates.

Yeah, he did play more with Kubalik the year prior. I think CHI was A.) finding out who Kubalik was at the time and B.) Kampf really hadn't solidified his role as a D specialist. There was still a little hope Kampf could have been more. Defensive specialist doesn't mean bad at all!

124.55 TOI with
Hagel Kampf Kubalik
Next up was 81.05 TOI with
Hagel Kampf Carpenter

Ya, in Evolving Hockey he had:
124.55 TOI with
Hagel Kampf Kubalik
Next up was 81.05 TOI with
Hagel Kampf Carpenter
IMO paired with Kase could be really good for him

Don't worry, Nick Ritchie will mask his stupid penalties. We needed a shutdown centre badly
