Description

Call me crazy but Tanner Jeannot may just be the most underrated Calder candidate for next season. Watching just one Nashville game I fell in love with his game. He's such a smart and productive player on the ice. David Farrance is also another major dark horse for the Calder. He'll be a top-four defenseman by the end of the season. People really need to stop underrating some of Nashville's depth players and prospects, they really are quite skilled. I think this team as a whole will surprise a lot of people this year because of their depth players. Nashville fans, tell me how these lines look and what you would change.

Are you implying there will be an Ekholm trade? Because Farrance won't be top 4 with Josi + Ekholm on this team. However, I don't see him or Jeannot as Calder contenders.

I would say the biggest omission is Carrier. He is a lock to make the team this year. And Tomasino looks poised to land in the top 9 -- he's not a lock, but he will get a hard look and play at least the 9 games I would think.

My ideal lines:
Forsberg - Duchene - Granlund
Tolvanen - Johansen - Kunin (I could see Johansen moved up to center the top line and Granlund to 2C, but I just don't like the idea of Granlund and Tolvanen together)
Jeannot - Glass - Tomasino
Trenin - Sissons - Cousins

Josi - Fabbro
Ekholm - Carrier
Farrance - Myers (but Benning probably plays over Farrance)

Unfortunately, I don't see a place for Grimaldi on this team anymore.

I mean sure, every year there are names no one even thought of that finish high in Calder voting

Interesting post coming from a Habs fan. Remember Poehling a few years, in the last game of the season, his only NHL game, he scored three goals. In the next two seasons, one goal, one assist in 27 games.
