I think the Buffalo trade is interesting.
Pysyk was a free agent so any asset is more than the Sabres had before they signed him
Miller for Kerfoot is reasonable.
On a whole I think Buffalo wins the talent and draft pick exchange.
Dermott > Pysyk
Kerfoot >=< Miller
2023 3rd round pick (WPG) + 2024 4th round pick (WPG) + 2022 7th round pick (TOR) > 2022 6th round pick (BUF) + 2022 4th round pick (BUF)
Three issues with the trade:
First, I do not think too many teams have signed a free agent then traded him in the same season.
Second, this leaves Buffalo with ONE NHL RHD.
Third, Buffalo has five potential NHL defensemen now, Dermott would make 6.
