Some draft pundits had Poirier a fringe/cusp first-rounder; most others had him as a solid second. He could be a very good win for the Flames. They certainly aren't overpaying for him.

I considered using the word "steal" but decided to use the phrase "very good win" instead. He could certainly be the steal of the third round.
