They just barely beat an AHL roster, LOL if anything they're barely a playoff team in the minors. Right @Juiceman @TheAlien @BubbleDemko?

Lol they beat the Canucks, except it was the Abbotsfors Canucks. I expected they’d win like 9-2. Could only score 5 goals on a 4th and 5th string goalie. Really let an ECHL shutout your team in the shootout lol. Kraken overrated

To me it looked like the canucks got lucky early on but yea i think it was also getting this team to mesh too

Our 1C was Nic Petan who probably doesn’t even make our roster… We were playing our AHL backup and ECHL Call up. We literally had like 5 NHL players this game against the Kraken NHL roster. Obviously one game doesn’t say everything but I expect them to be stronger against weaker opponents

i still think the nucks take third in the pacific. with petey and hughes they’ve got more offensive star power than seattle, even if they don’t play great defense.

Yup. I think VGK is about as much as you can get as a lock for 1st. I expect the Flames to be better this year so I have them 2nd but after that I could easily see the Kraken finishing 3rd, or evening 2nd

Seattle had Silovs looking like Bubble Demko lol. They're the most overrated team in the league

Yeah, I don't see Seattle making the playoffs. I think it ends up like this:

Vegas
Edmonton
Vancouver *
----------
Calgary
Los Angeles
San Jose
Seattle
Anaheim

* based in Hughes and Pettersson signing this week or next.

I have Calgary and Vancouver swapped but that could go either way lol. No doubt this is the weakest division in hockey right now.

I struggle with placing the Vancouver / Calgary / LA trio, as I don't think there's much that separates them. I only placed Vancouver ahead of Calgary based on the talent on the roster, but if Pettersson misses some time then I could see Calgary or LA getting ahead of them. I ended up placing LA last because while I like their prospect group, I don't think many of them are ready to impact the NHL in a meaningful way just yet.

I have Calgary ahead because of goaltending and defense IMO Markstrom is better and will show it this year in Calgary with a better D in front of him.

Seattle centre ice position is very weak. If everyone plays to their peak, yea maybe they make the playoffs, but that is so unlikely.

Seattle is weak at centre. Only if some of their players have career years could they sneak into the playoffs.

I think Markstrom will be better than last year too, but Demko may be better still - we'll see. Calgary's defense does look stronger (defensively) on paper, I'm not sure what to think of Vancouver's as they've had some significant changes.

Offense is the reason I put Vancouver ahead, but as you say it could easily go the other way.
