Description
This is a big offseason for lou. He has to lock up some big players and has a bunch of depth roles to fill.

Once clutter retires before last season martin calls it quits now and retires to spend time with his family.

I dont like freddie im really not a fan of him, but he was the goalie throughout lous time in toronto. Thats why i picked him to fill that role but it could also be someone like bishop or holtby or kuemper.

It looks to me as though you are suggesting Edmonton give up a 1st round pick in exchange for negotiating rights to Varlamov, I don't think they'd do that.

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Why dont you read where it literally says last offseason when he had 1 year left on his deal, i mean you cant miss it.

I doubt you'll get a 1st for 1 year of Varlamov though. If it was a 2022 deadline deal then Edmonton would likely give up a 1st (depending on how Smith and Koskinen play this year), but not a summertime deal. Read this for further explanation.

Fair, but if that was your intention you should have made this a 2022-23 trade; perhaps then it would seem like a reasonable suggestion.

I did make it in the 2022-23 acgm. If you would just try to think for half a second you would realize its a 3 year acgm series. I am showing what the next 3 years would look like under my plan. So when i got to 2023-24 i wrote the trade from the last season bc that had happened in this scenario.

I could 100% be wrong but if varlamov replicates his 20-21 season this year i think this deal is very very feasible.

Your attitude seems rather belligerent, perhaps less negativity would help you to find a more effective means of communicating online.

In any case it really doesn't matter how you attempt to make your case, I can't imagine a scenario in which Varlamov would be worth a 1st round pick and the Islander would be willing to part with him, unless Lou loses his mind or Ken bumps his head. The two teams view themselves as being on the rise and within a championship window for the next few years. The Oilers will not surrender a 1st round pick for a rental, unless that player is going to make them a legitimate Stanley Cup contender. If Varlamov plays strong enough to be that kind of player, the Islanders will likely hang onto him as insurance.

Or maybe since they have sorokin they dont need varlamov and would rather a 1st round pick.

Perhaps, and if Ken Holland could create the necessary cap space he might be happy to send the Islanders a 1st round pick and more. From an Oilers fan's perspective, the 2022 TDL might be the ideal time for such a transaction... Waiting until the 2023-24 season doesn't work.
