If could trust price to stay healthy then it might be worth a conversation however he’s proven that not to be the case so what’s the point? When one of the goalies is 39 years old it becomes crucial that the other isn’t constantly on and off the injured list.

The performance of Smith and Koskinen will dictate whether the Oilers make a move to find more dependable goaltending. I don't see Price being on the list of targets if the Oilers are seriously shopping. When it comes to older guys who have the potential to resurrect their elite play for short periods of time, Fleury would be the number one priority, if Chicago is out of the running before the TDL. There are others who don't have quite the pedigree of Fleury or Price, but have had playoff success in recent years and come with far less AAV and term than Price.

I mean Ken Holland actually gave up value for Duncan Keith, so who knows?

Not that it matters, because Carey and the habs obviously reject this.

He gave up a tweener defenseman and a 3rd round pick for a guy with 3 Cup rings. Hardly the same thing.

And this trade is giving up a 1st and a prospect for a Hart trophy winner. That still doesn’t make either trade good for Edmonton.

Holland gave up actual value, while giving Chicago $11 million in cap space and adding a near useless washed up player.

If cups matter so much, why don’t the Oilers get Chris Kunitz out of retirement and give him and his 4 Stanley Cups a 2 year $7 million AAV deal.

It seems you may be upset that some Oiler fans reject the idea of overpaying for Price, so much so that you feel it necessary to provide your opinion regarding a completely unrelated transaction that occured months ago.

No, I agree the Oilers shouldn’t do this.

I’m just saying that Holland is an idiot, and he pisses me off as someone who cheers for the Oilers.
