I wouldn’t do that option because he is injured and he would also cost a pretty penny for a contract that wouldn’t last too much longer either

What if the pens retained half of his contract?

Then that would cost even more which the Bruins shouldn’t give up just for a shorter term deal

Makes sense. Honestly it would prbably only cost Debrusk, 1st, Prospect, and maybe Clifton. But yeah I agree that might be too much to give up

Caps pass. None of that does anything for them. Only thing of interest is DeBrusk and the 2nd, and that definitely isn't enough for Kuz, let alone eating so much for so long.

Your "options" aren't realistic. Why would they move Kuzy? And even if they did, I'd imagine it starts with a first

With Backstrom out, this deal leaves the Caps' entire veteran center rotation as: Lars Eller, Nic Dowd.

That's not exactly how a contender is going to start this season. Even if you didn't push them over the cap.

Kuznetsov is the best realistic option, so I tried to make you a slightly realistic trade, here: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/516384?post_id=2705635
