Younger - Physical - Competitive READ DESCRIPTION

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
THIS IS SUPER UNREALISTIC

EXPLANATION FOR SENS TRADE:

Sens trade his rights to PIT for Guentzel. They are no longer in rebuild mode so this kinda makes sense. They get a good replacement for him. Guentzel is better now, but Tkachuk will be better in the long run. Sens are gonna start wanting to contend so this makes little sense. Sens currently have BDJ and Brannstrom who are on RD. Moving Zub for Pettersson makes sense because it opens up a spot for one of BDJ or Brannstrom. Pettersson provides LD depth as they dont have much. Pens get a younger and Physical player in both Zub and Tkachuk and it helps with a retool if it were to happen.
Lines for defense if this happened:
Chabot - BDJ/Brannstrom
Pettersson - Zaitsev
Mete - BDJ/Brannstrom

EXPLANATION FOR LAK TRADE:

Trade happens at the 2022 TDL. LA is contending and they get a decent top 6 forward who would help them for the playoffs. Pens get a younger player and a pick. JAD is someone who could help for the rebuild/retool. We also get a pick.

EXPLANATION FOR COL TRADE:

COL gets a good top 6 forward who will help them in the playoffs. Rust agrees to extension with COL. Pens get 2 young players and a 1st. This is what the pens would be looking for in a Rust deal. This trade happens at 2022 TDL. Rust also replaces Nichushkin or Burakovsky as they are both UFA's and one of them probably wont resign.

EXPLANATION FOR BOS TRADE:

Bruins get there #2 C that they've been looking for. This trade happens at the 2022 TDL. BOS is in a playoff spot and complete there roster. Pens retain half of his contract and receive young players. Debrusk is a young forward who an replace Rust and Studnicka who is also young and has potential to grow. We also get 2 picks for our future. Malkin agrees to extension as well.

EXPLANATION FOR EDM TRADE:

Edmonton gets a young starting goalie. Pens have too many young goalies in the system so we keep the younger ones and move on from Jarry. Jarry will help them with there playoff run and pens get a pick which is helpful for the pens retool. Trade happens at the 2022 TDL.

EXPLANATION FOR TOR TRADE:

TOR needs cap space desperatly. TOR trades Marner to the pens for Young players and prospects. Clang is a good goalie prospect which TOR doesnt have much of. They also get a cheaper replacement in Kapanen till Robertson is ready for the top 6. They also get Puustinen is a decent forward prospect who could grow as well. And they get two 2nds. And they save cap space to use that money for players they need to resign or just want to sign

Absolutely not. For Rust I think the Hall deal is a good comparable

avs turn that down a 100 times out of a 100. They arent trading 2 important cost controlled pieces for a pending UFA that they could just sign in the offseason if they were interested in him, plus they are going to extend Burakovsky over trading for and extending a Rust level player

    gross overpayment by the avs

I don't think Zucker is the right fit for the Kings. With several playmaking prospects nipping to get in the lineup and the additions of Danault and Arvidsson, the Kings have very little space to add players, and are likely to already have to waive several players before the season even begins. Pair this with the fact that Zucker is getting older and not as productive as he once was, having players like this was why they rebuilt in the first place.

No offense if you're an OTT fan, but I find a lot of OTT fans on here are similar to TOR fans in the sense they think everything they have is gold and their pipeline full of guaranteed NHL players. I know I'm coming off like a diack and I promise I'm not trying to. It's just my experience with Sens fans on here.

That said, I don't think Pettersson makes sense for the Sens, but if push comes to shove and they're forced to move Tkachuk, a Guentzel swap is probably amongst the best deals you'll get in the league and it's probably one of the few situations where Hextall would consider moving Jake.

OTT is a closer towards coming out of their rebuild than still being in it, so while you can probably get a haul of futures for Tkachuk that would make less sense at this point than a proven NHL player.

The Pens missed the boat on moving Zucker. At this point it makes more sense to hold on to him than moving him.

I like the sens but I am not a sens fan. I just think that Tkachuk is better than guentzel and zub is pretty much the same as pettersson.

Guentzel is better than Tkachuk. Maybe in the future, but now its Guentzel 100%

Why would COL do that? They wouldn’t pay that for Hall, they aren’t paying that for Rust especially a pending UFA. Hard fast and easy no.

I think what the thread started pointed out is very accurate. Jake is better than Tkachuk right now and it's honestly not debatable. Jake scores goals at an elite rate in the NHL and is among only a small group of wingers like that and as of right now, Brady is not in that category. Will Brady be better in future? I believe he will be a more complete player than Jake eventually. Jake is pretty awful defensively, but his scoring ability is elite. If your'e going to lose Brady no matter what, you'll be hard-pressed to find another team willing to move a 40G winger and the only reason it would be a possibility is because Brady's style is coveted by Hextall.

Here's a little backup so you realize I'm not being biased.

And how many of those elite pace goals were because he was playing with crosby? Ottawa right now does not have that franchise 1C.
